You're lying. Reclamation projects go on all the time.
And West Virginia is an awesome place to raise a kid.

Lol.

Yeah, there are some reclamation projects. Why?

Was it:
A. Due to the kindness of the mine owners
B. Regulations mandated it.

Your getting there, pretty soon you are going to walk right into exactly why Trump wanted the price to rise.

Keep talking you'll convince yourself.

I'll help you in your journey.

Are there costs of production?

What happens after an extended period of time that receipts cannot meet the cost of production?
Just admit you lost. The jury can smell it.

It sure would have been nice if some of the money from coal was used to retrain the workers to learn some other skills to bring in other industries. But that would have been communiss. What the hell, they still have bootstraps, eh?
Indeed. Trump went to the coal belt states promising them that he would bring back coal, coal generation and of course their jobs. Anybody who actually paid attention to what was going on laughed at him and those who believed him because they already knew that the utilities had for at least a decade prior to Trump's campaign had already been transitioning to cleaner and cheaper fuel sources made necessary by utility rate deregulation. I sat in on a presentation by the president of the utility grid serving my region in which he pointed to how the grid can now place new plants where the power is most desired and needed. They don't take long to set up and unlike the old coal plants which take a battalion sized group of people to run them these new plants going in require only about two dozen people at the most to run them. That along with new storage battery technology allows the grid to manage and maintain a more stable and dependable electric power network.

You refuse to take the walk, you refuse to answer the questions.

Yes, I'd say if there was a jury they can begin to smell your argument and it isn't pleasing.

Rest assured, if you refuse to answer the questions I'll answer them for you.

Keep backing up, you end up in a corner.

You have an artificially high opinion of your analytical skills.

Let's review. I said Trump sought to raise oil prices. You claimed he didn't and asked why he would want that.

I proved he did.

You tried ineffectually to change the subject (you are here).

I've lived in the coal region all my life. In fact if you want me to I can take you around and show you what properties looked like before the coal strippers tore it up and what it looks like now beginning with what my parents and grandparents farm looked like before my parents divorced and the coal strippers got it and what it looks like now. If coal strippers do such a good job then how come in the case of my parents farm city water has to be piped into it to supply the houses now?

Oh sure they'll show you those showcase, high public exposure strip jobs just to impress the unsuspecting public but go further back in and take a look at what the other out of sight out of mind places look like that are out of the public's view.

You once said that you might finally settle in West Virginia. Good. Just make sure that the place you get has a dependable supply of potable raw sewage and mine acid free water and the ground up the hill from you hasn't been strip mined leaving a very loose and unstable so called "reclamation" waiting to come falling down onto you.

So what are we really discussing here?

My point was that Trump sought to raise oil prices and, regardless of that, now that they have gone up, trumpers are blaming the current administration.

Now we are in agreement in that Trumpers are hypocrites.

I enjoyed our discussion.

I understood your point, you were making it in an attempt to discredit Trump.

I'll ask again, why would any President, Trump included seek to raise crude oil prices?

Don't be a punk hit and run leftist, you are defining yourself, answer the damn question.

You asking questions that are not germain to my initial assertion are irrelevant. Especially since I answered that one already. My assertion is that Trumpers are hypocrites and you help me prove it.

As to your question, I literally answered it in post #348.

Is this the time when you knock over all the pieces on the chessboard and strut around like you won?

If you recall just about a year ago this time and a presidential election year and COVID crude Oil was going for $-30 a barrel. That's right if you had crude oil on hand with no place to put it and you wanted the refiner to refine your oil and not somebody else's you had to literally give him the oil and pay HIM 30 bucks a barrel to get him to refine your oil rather than someone else's oil. Rest assured you don't allow something like that to go on for long if you need the industries money and votes .

"Trumpers" are rightfully pissed that Biden's energy plan is to cut the nuts off of fossil fuel producers, not maintain crude prices at market price.

Trumps efforts were to raise prices to ensure wells weren't capped, like in the 1970's, in an effort to sustain our national ability to extract and refine fuel to the benefit of the nation and all employed in those endeavors.

Trump loves Americans that provide our "fossil fuels" and the Americans that derive utility from their labor and investment.

America first. MAGA.

This is the answer.

He wanted oil prices at market levels to maintain the ability of our nation to keep delivering crude at a profit.

He did not want depressed prices to force the capping of domestic wells and put us at the mercy of foreign competitors once again.

You are too dense to understand this.
Trump is a capitalist, he's not an ivory tower theorist, her has actually run a business and made a payroll.

You're making my point, the Saudi's flooded the market, with crude.
For what purpose is something you need to come to grips with.

Yeah, that's not what I read in the oil prices thread. The gist is oil prices went up; thanks Biden. It wasn't praise, it was pure whining. I am sure your attempts at distraction will work on your fan club here - they believe that China is paying for the the tariffs. Most of them don't seem too informed - you might be a bit further off the Dunning Kruger scale than they are. That's why I know that you know that you lost this round.

Lol.

As for Trump loving Americans that produce fossil fuels, that's nonsense. Trump loves himself and has conducted foreign and domestic policy according to that which will benefit him the most. He doesn't love you, he doesn't love me. He certainly would never be caught dead with a roughneck or a miner unless there was a camera nearby and then he would hug them with all the sincerity that he showed holding that bible after he gassed all those people who didn't like him. Trump has not only put himself first over America, but has done harm to our country that will take decades to undo. He pardoned a bunch of political extortionists and war criminals which should show you where his heart really lies. Oh sure, there were some token common folk in there (if they had Kim Kardashian or Kanye West's [lol, Kanye Effing West!] ear) - the shiny object to distract the unintelligent and undereducated ("I love the undereducated!") from the truth. In the end, he has denuded us of international allies, put our troops at risk by pardoning war criminals and inviting murderers like Eddie Ghallager to the White House for Christmas. But mostly, he showed the world that about 37% of us are willing to believe the most ridiculous and obvious lies if it makes us feel better about ourselves. He perverted our justice system, undermined our democracy at every turn and left this country less great that at any time in my life.

I love you guys. You make me laugh. You only understand (sort of) half of one amendment to the Constitution and you howl and beat your manly chests about loving freedom while simultaneously doing everything you can to ensure that we live under the most repressive government possible.

Lol.

Trump isn't gone - he just moved the grift to a new state. Donate till it hurts.

Agree with the last point though. Identifying as a Republican these days does make one look stupid. I'm trying to change that.
Again.....you are a liberal troll.

You've admitted to being socialist/communist(same thing). You ain't Republican. Or conservative.

And anti-American.

Trump is a capitalist, he's not an ivory tower theorist, her has actually run a business and made a payroll.
He ran his businesses into the ground after inheriting $450 million from his daddy and telling you all he started with was a $1million loan. You believed him. Few of his business enterprises are profitable and he has repeatedly changed their valuations depending on whether he was looking for loans or paying taxes. I am pretty sure we'll be learning more about that soon.

The only time he was really successful and paid federal income taxes was when he played a businessman on TV and even then, he recouped those taxes on subsequent business losses which has put him under investigation by the IRS. Then he hid behind his office to avoid investigation.

You watch too much tv. Don't believe all that you see.
