SCOTUS Upholds the ACA

By a vote of 7-2 SCOTUS overturned a lower court ruling that invalidated the individual mandate saying that the individual plaintiff and the states who argued the case couldn't establish standing nor proving that it would be hurt by the mandate. Aletto and Gorsuch dissented but their dissenting opinion offered no actual legal basis to support their dissent.

No surprise. SCOTUS punted on the case again. Lack of standing so they didn't have to make a decision.
Perhaps given that it's the third trip to the alter for the ACA, SCOTUS got tired of listening to the same grievances over and over again and simply told the plaintiff states to stop bothering them. Having said in the past that the ACA was a poor setup it will have to suffice until the conservatives can come up with something better and given that the ACA has been in existence for more than a decade it does not appear as though they ever will leaving the task to simply improve on the ACA as the only realistic path forward.

Regroup, find other ways of destroying it. Never surrender, never stop fighting.
Just remember, when you're at the hospital and you sign that authorization to treat form you are at that point 100% fully liable for every cent of billed treatment and finding a way to pay for that treatment is up to you.

Private Insurance , paid for with our labor.
In other words you are under an employer sponsored and paid plan created in response to demands from it's union represented workforce? Therefore, what in your opinion should those who work for a company that does not offer such a plan do? And there are countless numbers who do not. And the answer is far more complex that to offer up the simplistic answer of "get another job".

Why does it have to be more complex than embrace personal responsibility and do what you need to do to succeed?

I'm disappointed with your poor effort at deflection The objective of the ACA was get some insurance for those who have none as well as to try to save a healthcare system that was collapsing under the weight of uncompensated care. In fact according to the Center for Budget and Policy Priorities 44% of those Americans who are receiving some form of public welfare benefits including Medicaid work full time. So lets see what one of your simplistic solutions can do to solve that matter.

How about we stop allowing price gouging on medical supplies and treatment? Insurance comes with its own moral hazards, on one hand it helps people who need treatment, on the other, people feel the need to use it, even if there is no need, because they are paying for it, thus increasing the burden on the healthcare system, thus increasing already fraudulently inflated prices.
