We heard about this at our last union meeting.
The morning drivers would work the preload and then go on road for 3-4 hours while the evening drivers would go on road for 3-4 hours and then work the metro.
Lower pay rate.
It does make sense.

We were told this would solve two problems, staffing preload and twilight shifts, along with driving shifts on weekends.

People would Bitch to no end but rotating like nurses do with call makes sense to me.
What you work 4 Saturdays a year. Is that so terrible?
I'm grandfathered in as a Monday through Friday driver. Anyone else with less than 25 years, sucks for them.

You ought to learn more about 4/10's.
The most senior drivers will get the Fri, Sat, Sun off.
The other drivers that bid into that "loop" may get a tues off or a wed off or a thurs off.
I knew someone who got a wed off. He thought it was ok cuz it broke the week up.
Moral of the story:
Not everyone gets fri, sat and sun off.
