My dad will be 82 in March. Stubborn as a mule, refuses help. As soon as he's vaccinated I'm moving in but he's made it clear I'm not staying for the rest of his life. My sister says if I don't stay she's getting him paid help. He laughs and says that's what she thinks. When parents have done well and have always been in charge it's really difficult to get them to even compromise.

My wife had made the mistake of telling her mother she would never put her in a nursing home. SMH I warned her that would probably come back to bite her in the ass---it did. That is a tough promise to back pedal out of. I'm glad my wife was charged with that duty.

All the decisions were made by my older siblings, I had nothing to do with any of it.
They even placed him in a home near my center, I drove by there many times but never stopped in for a visit.

Broke his hip in Feb , died in May.

The top federal prosecutor for the District of Columbia said Friday that investigators have not uncovered direct evidence at this point of any "kill/capture teams" targeting elected officials during the U.S. Capitol insurrection, contradicting allegations made earlier by federal prosecutors in Arizona.
U.S. prosecutors in Arizona said Thursday in a court filing against Jacob Chansley, also known as the QAnon Shaman, that they have "strong evidence" members of the pro-Trump mob wanted to "capture and assassinate" officials.
Michael Sherwin, the acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, attributed what he called the "disconnect" in Arizona, and at least one other district, to the sprawling and complex nature of the investigation. There are preliminary hearings taking place in districts across the U.S.
"At some of those hearings, there were other prosecutors, there may be a disconnect, may be adding information that's not directly related to what we have," Sherwin said at a news conference.
