Who has 100 hrs of time to give if they're already working fulltime? There's 720 hrs in a 30 day month. Assume 400 hrs for work and sleep. Time for eating, hygiene, getting dressed, commuting, children, church if you go, and numerous other responsibilities. 100 hrs, or 2.5 work weeks, would not only be extremely difficult to make time for but could wreck your health.
What about those that do not work full time ?
I'm sure many who failed at college or those who got degrees that are worthless are not working in their dream jobs.
They would have a lot of free time on their hands.
Why not devote that free time towards working off their loans ?

True college isn't the best for many.
Many wasted their time by not going to a trade school.
This country badly needs trade people and not office workers.

OK, how many years of working 25 hrs a week plus another 25 hrs a week given to someone else would it take to pay off $100k+ in school loan debt? And all those years you're working part time instead of getting the career you went to school for to begin with and incurred all that debt. And after all is paid off you have no home, no car, nothing to show for 4 years of college and a mountain of debt. And a lousy SS check because you were part time all those years. Anyone who would settle for that deserves it.

Not everyone has $100k+ loans outstanding.

  • Current U.S. Student Loan Debt = est. $1.75 Trillion
  • 1 in 4 Americans have student loan debt: An est. 44.7 Million people
  • Average student loan debt amount = $37,172
  • Average student loan payment = $393/month

Don't trust that math. 1 in 4 Americans isn't 44.7 million. More like double that. Hopefully for most it's $37k but hear way too many stories about over $100k. So you're good with working 100 hrs a month for about $400 a month? That's not even minimum wage. That's over 7 years of slavery.

what interest rates are these students paying?

why does wall st get near 0% money from the fed, and then is guaranteed to make money on it by lending it back to the govt?

Erasing all those loans still will not help the Dems in the upcoming midterms.
Maybe he should wait until 2024 until doing so.
Just might help Harris' Campaign.
Erasing all those debts Will not help most of those people, if they were foolish enough to fall into that much debt, they will do it again with something else. And they will cry and say it’s someone else’s fault again. I would be fine with stopping the interest on the loans but paying back The principal.

So true.
Erasing their student loans creates no life lesson for them.
