They should add to stop and honk at all railroad tracks too. lol

We are required to stop, put our 4 ways on and visually clear the tracks before crossing them.

We had a driver who was delivering in a residential subdivision when he struck a portable basketball goal. Mom and Dad were not home but their 13 year old son told the driver not to worry about it so he didn't tell anyone. Mom and Dad came home, saw the damage, called UPS, driver got a free 3 day unpaid mini "vacation".

He should have been terminated. There are those words honesty and integrity again.

Just because the parents were not home to see it, does it mean it didn't happen?

So you have to stop at all railroad tracks even if the lights aren't flashing? Even if you aren't hauling hazmat or anything you still have to stop?

Yuppers.

We had a driver from Vermont who was permanently injured when he tried to "beat the train" and lost.

Takes 5-10 seconds, time that I can easily make up elsewhere.

Well, if you have the ability to make up 5-10 whole seconds during your day, you are obviously milking it and cheating the company. ORION says so.
