So does anyone believe that after Trumpcare was shown to be a bill that would "takeaway" from the neediest Americans and give huge tax breaks to the wealthiest, Republicans will be more willing to do the same with tax reform?

a common tactic of its detractors as you illustrate is comparing what was phase one of ryancare to the complete package of Obamacare.

Yes. I'm sure it all magically would have worked out. To bad the republicans couldn't sell it to themselves.

They couldn't get close to a budget reconciliation bill this time. That has the lowest hurdle to pass the congress. We are supposed to believe they could pass an actual law? Then we should believe that actual law would improve things even though no one articulated what that magic law would entail?

All Trump has to do is drop the overseas profit tax from 39% to 15% or lower .
Most corporations have not been sending those profit back home due to the high tax rate .
Once it is dropped more funds will flow back into the USA , where it can be spent .

Too bad Pelosi is going to have to explain to constituents why the wonderful Obamacare is not so wonderful. Sucks to be her.
All that this Congress needs to do is included one little line into Obamacare to completely destroy it .
" No one is exempt . All components of this bill are now enforceable . "
Congressional and special exemptions will be gone .
Nothing lights a fire into Congress to act quicker than to attack their own purses .
Once everyone feels the full impact of Obamacare , it will spark quite an outcry .

The question is WHO OWNS OBAMACARE?????
If the GOP thinks it is a failing system and with control of the entire government do nothing, they will own the consequences. They need to move past their now obvious lie about repeal and work on small fixes that would actually benefit people.

I'm sure politicians standing on principle are puzzling to liberals who march in lock step as ordered.

nowhere special
Special interests (on both sides) don't really want tax reform. They benefit from complicated tax code with plenty of loopholes. Simplify things and that goes away. Plus a lot of accountants and lawyers would need to find more productive jobs.
