Teamster Buyout?

The $10K minimum tells me that they may not be focusing just on the higher seniority employees. $1,800 * 5 =$9,000.00 and * 6 = $10,800. Anyone with less than 5 years is not vested so if they choose to take the money and run any contributions made on their behalf stay in the Fund and they get nothing when they turn 65.

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.
Yep, mostly for the reasons I pointed out. Most of them haven’t planned on leaving at this point so there’s no point in leaving at all when we’re gonna make less money doing it. As well as being beholden to whatever the company wants you to do.
You’re gonna use up a lot of it before you get your first pension check. Defeats the purpose

Such as?

They would determine your separation date and give you the option of taking your personal, sick and vacation days prior to that date or saving them to be paid after separation. You would run your route and possibly train your Peak replacement.
They would determine your separation date most guys don’t wanna give that kind of control to this companyand most likely not pay you for your next year’s vacation as we’re currently fighting people who retired last October getting theirs that they had earned working enough hours. And all of this for the opportunity to make less money and pay more taxes…..

I do find an interesting someone like you who worked here as long as you do have full trust and such an untrustworthy company.

Most guys are smart enough and I’ve been here long enough to know better. Anything that you’ve made a deal with UPS about can be changed on a moment. Notice if you’ve allowed them to manipulate you enough to believe they’ll go through with what they promised.

I retired 6/22/18 and received my first two pension checks 7/31/18.
The person who retired most recently from my Center retired at the end of May and still has not received a pension check although he’s told he will receive his first ones at the beginning of the month. He remains doubtful. And this was after he had put his paperwork in in February.

I can only imagine if they’re actually were a large number of people retiring how much worse it would be.

So you would prefer to work through Peak and the first day of the new year just to get your personal, sick and vacation days?

If I had the requirements for a full pension I would accept the buyout and them immediately put in my papers. The Fund would determine both my separation date and last work day. I would live off of my personal, sick and bonus days and would hold off on touching my buyout until I absolutely needed to, if at all, until I started receiving my pension

Well, it’s not my fault. You’re not intelligent enough to stick around for more money than the offer you were given.

Just the vacation and entitlement for the next year is close to $20,000. That’s not even taking into account. The fact that your buyout bonus is going to be taxed more than your pay would’ve been so you’ll be receiving less on that as well..

Again, like I said anyone that was gonna work more than six months would have to be accepting less money in this deal. If that works for them fine but apparently most I don’t feel it works.

I think it’s become clear you just like to argue because you said yourself this is not a good deal. And it isn’t, we’ll leave it at that.

Our pension fund pays on the last business day of the month for the following month. Your co-worker should receive 2 checks (June and July) on or about 8/1.
