Teamster Buyout?

Secondly, it’ll speed up the revolving door that UPS has been working towards for years. The company will be hiring new drivers who will be paid at half the wage of those that just exited. They’ll treat these drivers as disposable units that they'll beat the hell of for their four year progression in the hopes they’ll quit and can be replaced with new drivers at starting wages.

First time I've seen this in words, everyone in the company has experienced it and it's remarkable how many 4 year drivers I've seen quit prior to top rate or being vested. Curious if this will be the new ac in trucks/heat exhaustion next contract
Yep, I believe this is the intended outcome of this buyout. No idea if it will actually work, but I do believe this was what the company would like.

9.5 clock out for anyone on the list.

All hours voluntarily worked over 9.5 are automatically added to your paycheck with no grievance procedure necessary.
C'mon now, what's wrong with the grievance procedure on 9.5?
You don't like and agree with the companies "guilty til proven innocent" policy regarding that??

I don’t ever see that happening. Also, it’s interesting the same guys who say working more than 9 1/2 hours every day in package cars ruining their family life go to Feeders demand 12 hours a day.

The hour suck but at the end of the day, I think they want the money more. And they seem to prove it when they go to Feeders.

If that’s who they’re targeting, I believe the next contract will be very, very contentious if not history making one way or another.
With the money they gave in raises under the current contract, my guess is the next one will be back to normal AT BEST if not less than what use to be average for us.
But I won't be here that long to fight that battle and have a vote.

Gonna be some people upset because they were guys on this website saying we should’ve got a $10 an hour raise the first year lol.

The company sees the union as a liability. They will want a strike to try and eliminate it. Roadie is meant to replace us. Think they would love to do it in 2028. But I don't think the infrastructure for them will be there yet. Feels like we have one more chance at a good contract, but also feels like we missed that chance.

Got the T-Shirt
But when you get that text as a driver (before I became a Porter) at 6-7am asking if I want the day off and don't even have to show up, well it's just hard to pass on buddy.

Oh yeah. Been there done that. Got the T-Shirt.

Nothing like showing up at the bar down the street (from the Hub) @9:30 am....

And there are already 9 or 10 drivers there. About noon, the feeder guys would start to come in.

My Local never had porters. Always a contracted outside agency. Consider yourself lucky.

One year, the Labor guy asked my suggestions on helping create more 22.3 jobs. They were

having trouble trying to get people to bid on POS 22.3 combos. I suggested porter.

He just laughed and laughed....

No freaking way the company or it's major shareholders the likes of jp Morgan chase, vanguard, Black Rock, Schwab, etc. want us to use our economic weapon against them. If we don't work they don't profit and these people are invested more businesses and sectors than ours that would take a hit from a labor uprising. If roadie is meant to replace us good freaking luck. There are what ~100,000 UPS package car drivers? Have fun hiring 200,000 gig economy workers at the same time to replace us.

I've seen plenty of 5 to 10 year drivers quit
