Or pensioner die before they eligible to collect, or pass away early In retirement while collecting
One should have adequate insurance in place while still working.

Most plans have survivor options if you die beforehand.

No one knows how long they will be around. If you stick around working longer, my advice is to use vacation time spending that money you earn.

You smell that?
People have been fantasizing about a buyout since the 2002 contract.

I've always been willing to bet money they would never offer us a buyout ...guess I would have lost.

The young drivers and part-timers in my building are praying all of the people eligible to retire get out...they want those spots

Nobody has been offered anything yet.... ;)

On the $3,000 a year amount, I've now heard that figure several times....you know something we don't know?

Absolutely not. I retired in March of 2024.

I mean.... I could make some calls.... but I doubt there is any solid information yet.

I gotta friend who is very near the top but I doubt he'd let anything go that hasn't been approved. They're keeping their next step off the radar until UPS makes it's next move

Eh. I don't like this. Seems entitled. Dont we collect an hourly wage while working? Doesn't the co contribute to our health and wellness for every day we work? The union is calling the Co deceptive but this isn't any better.
3k for every year of service is chump change. It’s not about being entitled, it’s about what you already have which is really good health care and a 100k a year or more job. Why would you give it up for less than 100k for most of us. Unless your already retiring in less then a year.
