hi all! trying to get into the discount stock purchase plan and 401k plan for the new year and was wondering if one has to be a member of the union in order to participate in the 401k plan? thanks

Nope, don't need to be a member, thank goodness. I signed up, and everything was fine for me, despite not being a teamster.

I'm assuming that is the same nationwide.

You do not need to be a member of the union for any of the benefits that are provided by UPS.

But you might want to thank the union for getting UPS to provide those benifits for you. Do you really think UPS provides benifits out of the kindness of their hearts?
