Telematics...UPS is wiring your truck

I read it the same way Steve. That brings up a question from me to mnnice.
Do you normally have this degree of reading comprihension? or was the wording in SoberUps post too complicated for you to understand?

I can't believe you have made a statement like this. You need to "Sober UP" and realize the company you work for is a company that spends millions of dollars on safety training and equipment so that you can do your job safe each and every day. The reason they place sensors on seatbelts is because some people have chosen not to wear their seatbelts and have been involved with accidents that have resulted in deaths. The company does this so they don't have to arrive at your spouse's door step to tell he/she that you were killed in an accident because you weren't wearing your seatbelt. I admire a company that would spend their money on your safety. You need to do the same. When I was trained to drive, I was told to wear my seatbelt and close the bulkhead door. To me it didn't seem like an option not to just like anything else I was told to do during my training. We all have choices to make and those choices we make sometimes will affect you. If you chose not to follow procedures, is it the company that terminates you or is it your choice that terminated you?? You seem to think the company looks for every opportunity to get rid of you. I seem to think they take every opportunity, like this one, to save you.
If UPS wants to put money where their million dollar mouths are then let them address the 9.5 issues as well. Seatbelts are not the only safety factor here. How about drivers working their collective asses off day in and day out without relief, being slammed because the company breaks out rtes consistently in the name of numbers. They give not one whit about drivers going home at a decent hr. All they give a damn about is their stockholders and the profit margin.

Safety belts and bulkhead doors are not an option for me. Mine is on and closed. Yes we all have choices to make and UPS has made their choice abundantly clear. MONEY!

Are you not paid for working day in and day out. Relief in my book is called vacation. Maybe you should get a part time job so you don't have to work every day.

"Spending" and "practicing" are two hugely different things. UPS isn't one for the latter.

You are entitled to your opinion but Dillie is entitled to respect for the opinion given

How long have you worked at ups

You were a little bit harsh on sober, why? Maybe I'm wrong, but I read it as though you were scolding him, and not just giving him your opinion. Am I wrong, and if not, is this the way you speak to people on a daily basis, and if so, why?
If I'm wrong, I apologize, maybe I read too much into it all.:peaceful:
I wasn't scolding anyone. I was just giving you my opinion. I don't speak to people like this daily because I usually don't assoicate with people so negative.

If you are going to criticise my reading comprehension, you should probably start with your spelling first. This web site is for opinions which I gave.

So which is it? You weren't scolding sober, or you were? Whatever your frame of mind, makes no difference to me. I just find it kind of strange, that you would come in here with guns blazing. Did sober hit a nerve? Sober has his opinions as well. I agree with some, disagree with others and some are neither here nor there. Tell me, what part of sobers posts have made you so angry? Quote the ones that hit the nerve. I want to see what exactly it is that made you feel this way. Oh, and btw, do tell, about your lack of association with people "so negative".

Why should that matter? I gave my opinion and length of service should have nothing to do with it. I will give you a clue. I have been with the company long enough to give an educated opinion.

There was a guy in here, not too long ago, that thought he would change the world. He was only at UPS less than 6 months. He tried his best at "educated" opinions. So, anyone, really, could give an "educated" opinion. When you say, I will give you a clue, it sounds to me as though you are hiding. Why not just come out and be honest. You ranted on sober, but now you want to hide behind vague hints? Come on now, you've been with the company "long enough" to be able to stand up for yourself.

It seems YOU have made the same choice you say UPS has made, MONEY. If not so, then you would be working at the local McDonalds for minimum wages with lots of relief instead of working for UPS. Oh, that's right, you want your cake and eat it too. Sorry, life isn't like that, you get one or the other. If you want both, start your own company.

Can hugging a troll substitute for hugging a grouch? Oh what the heck, let's hug the whole family.

Man or man, you suck at being a spelling cop. I mean really, you can't spell criticZe with an s, and be on Cement's squad. Also, I didn't have any trouble understanding what SoberUps said, but it was YOU that didn't.

Come on, if you've been around UPS long enough to have an "educated" opinion, don't we have the right to know how long that is? Or, are you too afraid to admit that you haven't been around long enough?
Inquiring minds want to know. I would personally like to know what your function is at Big Brown. Driver? Part time sup? Pre-loader? Break it down for us.

What you evidently haven't been around long enough to know is that the relief Dilli was talking about was relieve from 10-11 hour days, pushing packages out of crappy trucks that haven't been washed in months, as fast as you can. Then get into yelled at, your job threatened, and treated like a second class citizen the next day for not doing it fast enough. THAT'S the relief she and most drivers want and need.
