I agree also people who put up signs warning of there dogs become liable because they are admitting they have a dog that may attack you.

Damned if you dont post about dog and damned if you do

I think that you're only liable if your dog leaves your yard to bite someone. On the other hand, if someone comes on to your private property and gets mauled by Fido, I think they bear the liability, or so I've been told by animal control. Though this may only apply in Florida, or maybe just the county that I live in.

Oh, and we still don't have telematics.

The consignee gives you permission to come onto their property by ordering something that has to be delivered. Most states, I believe, are the same on this as well as being responsible for the safety of people that are on their property. That's why home owners take out liability insurance.

Look inside the DIAD holder on the truck. There is a trigger at the bottom. I'm assuming that if you pull the DIAD out while the vehicle is in motion the trigger like device will activate. Maybe SoberUps can verify.

Nope. No trigger.

Both the DIAD and Telematics have GPS though. They can tell where the DIAD was and where the vehicle was, and how fast each was moving.

This sounds like my cover driver will actually have to stop the car before he sheets a RS as NI1. No more drive by fake stops.

A "Drive By Sheeting", as a member on here once called it. When I did EAMs, I would drive a different package car about every day, whatever P5, P8, or P10 was empty that morning. They would all have old RS labels in them that were never attempted. In this day of GPS and PAS/EDD, I can't understand why this goes on.

A "Drive By Sheeting.

That's a funny phrase, and reminds me of what Robin Williams said in Mrs. Doubtfire, after pegging Pierce Brosnan in the back of the head with a Lime. It was a run by fruiting, oh sir, must have been an angry member of the Kitchen staff. LOL, the wife and I always look forward to that part.:happy-very:

I would call it that, however I guess I have built up an immunity to it.

Must have run out of the vaccine here in South Florida.:wink2:

The trigger is there though. It must have some function.

What does it look like? does it look like? There is a plate meant to hold in the DIAD. Its just plastic. There are no electrical connections between the vehicle, holder or DIAD.

There was once a DVA in the vehicle. Maybe your vehicle still has the DVA installed. If its installed, its dead. They were disconnected long ago.

The side of the holder locks the DIAD in. Put a pen in it to keep it open. DIAD comes out a lot easier. Dead center at the bottom of the DIAD holder hangs a trigger like device that pushes back when the DIAD is slid against it. At least that's what it looks like. If I think of it I'll take a picture of it and PM it to STUGGS cause lord knows I couldn't post it all by myself.

That trigger is what locks the diad in the diad holder.

It seems to do an especially good job of locking in the diad when you are in a hurry.

When the diad is turned on by you pressing it, it is time stamped. The GPS system on the diad is always on the moment you sign in and scan the truck.

Im in South New England where they have implemented it full scale. It has good and bad points. They tend to criticize everything now. I have my belt on 100% of the time, but when I'm rolling to a stop and take the belt off .1 second before the tires stop, I become a stat on their system. My center manager already told me to watch my belt use, EVEN THOUGH I HAVE IT ON 100% OF THE TIME.

Hopefully this is just something they will work out of, Not Holding My Breath.

The old DVA hasn't been removed, but a piece was added to accomodate the new (Dare I say it) DIAD.:sad-very:

That trigger is controlled by the (I don't know what it's called) thing on top of the holder that you have to move to get the holder to release. The trigger locks onto the metal clip on the bottom of the diad.

Just curious, does it register a violation if your truck is still rocking back and forth when you release your seatbelt?

Yes, I did. That part of my holder no longer works.

Now, if the diad doesn't come out, it's because of the rubber on the sides of the diad.
