“Despite all the pushback, rescheduling to Schedule III still makes the manufacturing, distribution, dispensing and possession of marijuana prohibited under the CSA.

Subsequently, advocates of marijuana reform have continued to characterize the proposed rule as largely symbolic, apart from some potential tax benefits that marijuana businesses could take advantage of after rescheduling is completed

Cat Packer, director of drug markets and legal regulation at the Drug Policy Alliance, called rescheduling a “lateral move.”

“There are folks who have said it’s decriminalization, but I disagree, in part, because the way that the Controlled Substances Act is set up,” Packer said. “’There’s no change to criminalization. So, there’s a means by which the government can continue criminalization while just simultaneously, for the first time, acknowledging that there’s currently accepted medical use.”

You gotta read the whole story and understand what you’re even talking about. They’re not going to they were never going to let people out jail. And the government will still be involved with the way you get and use marijuana. Just like with tobacco.. Biden couldn’t even keep his promise halfway. Because he never planned to.
Scheduled 1 doesn’t allow for research. It’s deemed “too dangerous to research with human subjects”

I hope this doesn’t get taken the way, if it does please know I didn’t mean it that way, but it does seem like you’re giving the republicans a lot more leeway and defenses on all of these arguments than you do the other side

Earlier when it comes to abortion we need compromise, but when it comes to my point of the republicans pushing back on just the simple act of moving it from schedule 1 to schedule 3 it gets defended

I’ve already criticized Biden for his role in this, I’ve criticized him plenty on the past, but I’m simply pointing out the republicans pushing back on moving marijuana from schedule 1 to 3 federally, which should have been a very very simple and easy compromise

I didn’t say a word about the Republicans, they really are not consequential Joe Biden was president. He could’ve done what he promised or not promised at all if he couldn’t.

The buck stop with him. Where were all the pardons?

You quoted the part of the article I sent where the republicans pushed back on marijuana being rescheduled from 1 to 3

It’s not legal, It’s also not very practical. But certainly might be fun at a shooting range.
I know it’s not legal. Well I think it is actually but you just need a lot of paperwork and tests beforehand, and $$$

But I’m always curious and wanting to learn more about people’s views on the second ammendment, because I’m wondering more lately if I’m wrong on it. I’ve always been pro gun rights, but then I see lots of talk about “shall not be infringed” talk and it does make me wonder, is there no line? And where and how and why do we draw it

That was the very first line. The rest of it went on to tell you how it wouldn’t even matter if it was rescheduled.. not one word about Republicans lol. And again, they were not consequential at all Joe Biden could’ve done a lot and he did nothing.

Nope, you’re thinking of suppressors. Turning your Glock, fully automatic is not legal.

It would allow more research to be done on it being taken off schedule 1. The article was about republicans pushing back on doing so

And they had absolutely no say in it. Biden could’ve done it if he wanted to. He certainly could’ve pardoned any of the people convicted of it. He did none of it.
Well that’s not true. He did get it started and it is being rescheduled to 3, and he did pardon federal marijuana convictions

“No one was freed from prison under last year’s action, but the pardons were meant to help thousands overcome obstacles to renting a home or finding a job. Similarly, no federal prisoners are eligible for release as a result of Friday’s pardon. “

Neat 😕
