The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming!

Potential perjury by the AG is hardly noteworthy?

No perjury. Read the transcripts of what Franken asked and Sessions answered.

Sessions did talk to Russians a couple of times but as a part of his job as a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee. Not connected to Trump or the election which was what he was asked.

Franken is a clown and the stooge they put up to detract from Trump's successful speech. Michael Moore is out there this morning too espousing that Trump planned for "good television' with the tribute to the fallen Seal. Calling the grieving woman an "idiot".

“There was absolutely nothing misleading about his answer,” Sessions spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores said in a statement. “Last year, the senator had over 25 conversations with foreign ambassadors as a senior member of the Armed Services Committee, including the British, Korean, Japanese, Polish, Indian, Chinese, Canadian, Australian, German and Russian ambassadors. He was asked during the hearing about communications between Russia and the Trump campaign -- not about meetings he took as a senator and a member of the Armed Services Committee.”

According to a schedule provided to Fox News, Sessions had 30 meetings with numerous ambassadors from April 14 through Nov. 11. Russia appears on the schedule only once – the Sept. 8 meeting with Kislyak. The day before, Sessions also took a meeting with Ukraine Ambassador Valeriy Chaly. These meetings took place a week before a seven-day unilateral ceasefire plan was accepted by Russia on behalf of separatist rebels it backed in the conflict with Ukraine.

"The Attorney General Must Resign": Pelosi, Top Democrats Calls For Sessions' Immediate Termination | Zero Hedge

Sessions was not actually asked whether he or anyone affiliated with the campaign had any kind of communication with the Russians, ever. He was asked, first, about “a continuing exchange of information” — repeated contacts between the campaign and representatives of the Russian government. In the full context of Franken’s remarks, Sessions was asked about the allegations in the dossier, and he denied such “communications” to the extent of his ability to do so.

Additionally, the WaPo adds that Sessions was asked by Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT) whether he had “been in contact with anyone connected to any part of the Russian government about the 2016 election, either before or after election day." Sessions answered, simply, “no.” And there is no evidence in the Post nor elsewhere to cast doubt on that claim.

How many times has this been repeated;
And there is no evidence in the Post nor elsewhere to cast doubt on that claim.

We heard similar excuses for Flynn. Just normal conversations that were completely harmless and in the normal course of government business. Then he was fired. Which is it, normal or a termination level offense? Can't be both.

Republicans are already breaking ranks, suggesting that Sessions recuse himself from overseeing the Russia investigations.

Oops.
