  • HR: involuntarily separated, replaced with Workday; all the FT MIPs who wanted to stay got to, at least where I am
  • Security & BD: VSAP + involuntary separations, those who came from UPS already stayed, the rest mostly just left
  • IE: VSAP offered to MIPs, specialists involuntarily separated, IE is now handing over a bunch of secretarial and reporting crap to the ops, who knows what's to follow....
  • Ops: VSAP is coming later this year to cull that giant herd

Workday: now the ORS and the Manager have to enter a lot HR/Labor items into Workday, I have to set aside a couple of hours a day just to focus on workday...oh well now even less on road time for the ORS.

IE: secretarial stuff and reporting crap now on back burner daily...unless we truly need it.

OPS: did you sit thru the EAST region (how we are gonna reduce cost) call on Friday? I guess its going to magically happen with no one around to do it.

Yeah I was on the call, we are gonna reduce cost by attritioning supervisors lol

You'll be doing your own staffing 100%, if you weren't already, by end of month

The sad story is all the stuff they showed we are losing money on was completely avoidable; we introduced a lot of tech, and it could be saving us money, but we rolled it out and did initial training and just assumed the ops could carry on forever with no follow-up. That's INSANE

there are not enough hours in the day or week to do everything they are asking, its going to be wack a mole again.

I know more than few people that are waiting for the OPS buyout....

2021 going to be interesting...

There are technically enough, but not for the average UPS team with the average UPS center

Good manager with good sups and decent to good employees, basically anywhere we don't deliver any sizable amount of packages can swing it

The city boys will just start cheating numbers again, get fired, and then I can golden parachute into the ops and be a DM in 5 years or less

Yes, I know I'm working late.

My center manager is sitting on their couch by 2pm every day. You may want to move down south. No I am not joking.

What I mean is they test this stuff out in exceptional centers and are then shocked when it doesn't work everywhere

I am not surprised, but we are a large corporation and what is good for one is good for all.

I have a few friends further south then me and they all say the same thing.

Sooooo..... what does this all mean for us smooth-brained drivers? No more ride-alongs and excel spreadsheets showing how many average backs over the rest of the district we were?

Damn I'll miss finance. How will we survive?

You forgot Finance - they are getting whacked as well.
why me, no one gets sympathy for losing their jobs in this forum. This is supposed to be a "partners" section, but all you see is union jerks coming in and gleefully gloating when administrative people, who have worked for the company for most of their lives, are suddenly out of a job.

But it's fine when management types gloat when an hourly is fired. Piss up a rope.
