Trip to ER might be costly

Several things.

1, I do not need to use it to see what is and is not covered and at what percent. X=Y. Its not like trying a beef stew. Pretty simple, look at the summary of benefits and compare it to my current summary of benefits.

2, "Its not that bad". Sorry, but that means squat. I generally do not settle for things that are "not that bad". I could sell my car and ride a bike. It wouldn't be that bad.
1) OK, Lets take your example above.
Say diabetic goes to doctor we'll say 4 times/year, that is $1350/visit..way too much. Person pays no lab, person pays nothing for medications, so all that price is doctor. Any specialist I have gone to, I get charged maybe $30/visit. Long way from $1350. Whoever quoted those numbers is off.
2)I'm referring to "not as bad" as to what everybody is saying that has no experience with the plan. I used to worry about a lot of stuff that never comes to fruition. You can add years to your life by not worrying about things that you have no control over, and can't change.

Would you be happy if you had something today and tomorrow you are asked to take an economical loss?
Do you know how much insurance has risen since 2009? over 25%. Believe it or not, Teamcare is very good insurance that you pay nothing for. And for new members no deductible for the first 4 years. Would you have rather of paid $45/month and keep the UPS plan or nothing and get moved into Teamcare? It wasn't staying the same.

Teamcare. Yes, Teamcare sent us those numbers. It is in the summary of benefits sent to all of new Teamcare members.

So you are telling me Teamcare is wrong on what they sent?

As far as "not worrying about things I can not change". Who said I am worried?? Pissed, yes. To different things.

Then that must be for out of network doctors. I have never paid anywhere near that much for care. I have had Teamcare, and find it amusing all the hysteria that has ensued over something that people have not experienced, even after people that have experienced it say to the contrary.

Opposite here. Welfare people go to ER because it costs them nothing. That is where you will sit for hours in the waiting room.

Yep, same way here. I sat in the ER once with a cluster headache so bad, I thought my skull was being ripped apart. (It was after midnight, so our Urgent Care was closed.) Made the mistake of going to the closest ER first, which happened to be the non profit hospital. Sat there for 2 hours without even getting called back for triage, before my husband drove me to the other ER, where they had me in a bed with an IV hooked up, delivering pain and anti-nausea meds within 15 minutes.

Depends on the state / city you live in, if you even have those or they are open 24 hours.
If I get a Broken bone, I am not going to wait till morning for one of these to open....

If you get a broken bone, going to the ER is a waste of time, anyway, as they generally won't do much other than give you some pain meds, wrap the limb with an ace bandage and send you on your way with a referral to an ortho specialist. My son broke his arm twice and the same thing happened both times. They don't normally cast right then and there, because they want the swelling to go down first and they want you to see a specialist. At least, that has been my experience.

Hello everyone. I am going to miss our health insurance. I hope team care is much better. I got into a car accident last year and the insurance cover everything. 350000 dollar. I love ups.

Sure that wasn't your auto insurance kicking in?yours or the other driver's. Usually that's how auto accidents work.

Must be different everywhere.
Also, yes it is different for Kids, and Adults. Kids need to have the growth plate checked out and so on.
I am NOT going to wait to have it SET in the morning.
I am NOT going to wait for pain meds in the morning.
I am not going to wait for an Xray in the morning to see if it is cracked or more severly broken, which I could cause more damage.
You see the picture?

Not exactly ranting on you, as I know different places have different ways of doing things. Like one of the other people they have immediate care places 24 hours. We do NOT.

Inordinately Right
I'm still not clear on ER charges. Say I have an allergic reaction and an asthma attack(wouldn't be the first time unfortunately). I'd get epinephrine and oxygen and be sent home after I was stabilized. So I'd pay 20% because I wasn't admitted to the hospital?

The summary of benefits they sent me seems to list Urgent care at 80% covered too which is strange because urgent care is usually encouraged to prevent costly ER visits. Surely I'm reading that wrong right?
(P/T new to teamcare btw).

That is wrong. Prescriptions are free through mail order. Medical equipment and supplies-for type 2 is included in prescriptions. Lab tests are free through Quest. You don't get vaccines for diabetes. Doctors visits ok $700. Education, I would think would be included in doctors visit, but I'll give you that $300. So my calculations is max $1000. minus whatever insurance pays, so at most $200. Whoever put that together, does not know the current plan, sad to say.

Please stop spreading bad information on here
TEAMCARE will pay urgent care at 80% when billed as "urgent care". I called my 5 Local urgent care facilities and they all bill as urgent care\out patient!! TEAMCARE only covers at 100% if it's billed as a doctors visit! We are not getting a good deal!! Please educate yourself

I see where it says we are responsible for 20% of costs for urgent care. I see the same is true for ER vists (Unless you are admitted, but we've already discussed how hard that will be), which are going to cost more. So in the end, whenever possible it is financially better to go to an urgent care facility.

And what you refuse to acknowledge is that we would have been paying something similar even without Teamcare, since UPS was not going to provide the insurance we had before.

Gosh dang, why not?
Profits - Record high, with a very bright future.
Expect More work from less people

Why didn't the Union stick up for us? Why did we give back when the company was doing so well?

Just Sad. . . .

I don't want to hear Costs are going up. Remember the Unions told us to Vote Obama.
Obama said he is going to cut the cost of health care.

Just a FYI, I believe the Union is a necessary Evil. Been paying union Dues almost 20 years now.

So I am suppose to put faith into a plan that puts out information that is wrong? If they can't even get that right, how are they going to get my billing correct? And, until proven otherwise, I will believe the information provided by Teamcare before believing and anonymous Chuck the frog on the internet.

And where does it say we have to pay prescriptions? Where does it say vaccines? That field also includes "other preventative". You care cherry picking. Teamcare put this out in the "summary of benefits" brochure.

"Chuck the frog" I like that. I am just telling you what my experiences with Teamcare are. Hopefully you won't have to go to doctor as much as my family has, and that you and your family remain healthy. All this negativity against Teamcare is unwarranted. I'm am just trying to allay fears people have about their new insurance.

In the example scenario you submitted, it says $2900 for prescriptions. You will pay nothing. You ask where vaccines are, then you answer that question. How am I cherry picking? I went down that whole summary of charges, and told you my opinion of each.

Some of these guys just believe what they hear from the local... You can't believe everything the local says! There's a reason why everyone voted no in the locals where the healthcare changes occurred. Change is coming in 2016.

Apettyj I take it you have never had a kidney stone!! YOU ARE WRONG!! KIDNEY STONES ARE AN EMERGENCY!! NOT ACCORDING TO TEAMCARE BUT TO MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS THEY MOST CERTAINLY ARE!! I keep hearing you mention these urgent care facilities!! LET ME BE THE FIRST TO INFORM YOU!! Neither an urgent care or family doctor has the medication or supplies needed to remove or treat a kidney stone!! Most times dilaudid, which is in the same class as morphine and oxycodone (strongest meds the Er has on hand) is given just to ease the pain!! Kidney stones are an emergency!! Those 2nd class doctors at the urgent care (clinic) would not even know how to treat something this serious!! You are correct by saying that some Americans abuse the ER by going for a fever!! In my eyes those dummy's should be stuck with 100% of the bill!! Please don't mix up a kidney stone as an urgent care or family doctor need!! If you have a kidney stone you go to the ER!!! The day you get one you will know what I mean !!
. I went to the ER twice last year for kidney stones. When that pain hits, you would rather be dead. I always seem to get that attack on the weekend or 12 midnight, when you have no other option. Anyway, I have TeamCare, and wish I could remember the dollar amount I had to pay after those visits, but it couldn't have been substantial, because I don't remember the figure.
I
