Thanks . The success of this company has always been a concern for me. But never ever at the expense of those who toil for this company. Its shameful what we are doing to our people. Its not the ups i grew up in.
Watch what you say here buddy,it only takes one low level corporate wannabe to point out your anti ups opinions.
The new ups has nothing to do with Casey's dream of service,it's all about profit now.

Im confused on your thoughts on no forced seperations. Are you speaking of managers/sups/specialists? We have already seen forced seperations of admins in the recent weeks.... Also, how do you think the managment pool will fall out? If they keep bumping positions,18 to 16, 16 to 14, 14 to 33. What happens to those left standing(the 33's or specialists) when the dust settles? Do they make room? go to special assignment? or get a forced seperation?

P-Man what are your thoughts on this?

DS in this case I'm hoping someone from corporate is. Hoping one person just one in the silver palace happens to glance out his window and say holy **** I never realized it was that bad.

I've often wondered if there were posters here who were being paid to spin the positive. P-man I love you. I learn much from you on how the perfect world shoudl operate. But in this case I don't believe you will speak the truth.

Tie, Wizard,

Maybe I oversimplified and / or people read into things I didn't intend....

When they announced 1800 fewer jobs, I always thought the end of the line would mean that some number of management people would be told they must leave UPS whether they wanted to stay or not. This was my definition of a "forced seperation". I was not counting admins or specialists. Maybe I should have thought about this, but I did not.

I did the math long ago... 1800 less positions. About 1000 people oferred a buyout. Mabye 50% take it... That meant to me that lots of management people would be told that they had no UPS job. Again, right or wrong, this is how I thought.

It looks like this initial thought will not work this way. That is my bet. I do not think we will see any management people (or very few) told that they MUST leave UPS.

I know that many were forced into jobs they didn't want, locations they didn't want, forced to take a demotion, etc.

Again, when I said forced seperations, I meant told that they had no job whether they wanted to stay or not.

I honestly do not know hom many specialists were forced out (if any). I do know that admins were forced out. I was limiting my comments to MIP management.

Rumors are that there will be promotions because we are short people, believe it or not.

Tie, since this is all opinion its hard not to speak the truth. I'm just making a prediction.

Guess we will see in a week. with the realignment now and the redundancy of jobs in the staff functions I'm guessing hundreds of specialist will be forced out.

As I said, I don't know about the specialists....

Thats so true...It actually highlights the final transition from Mr Casey/United Parcel Service/Private Company/Promotion from Within to Mr Davis/UPS/Public Company/ Anything goes..........

I have not seen any forced seperations of MIP people yet either, mearly demotions and dept. moves. Who will know whats gonna happen after May 28th?? All managment people who have jobs, post transition, already know as of this past Friday(this includes specialists i believe). Has anyone actually came out and said they do not have a job after May 28th? Also, i have not heard of any specialsts say they were left sitting on the bench and must take a pt sup job or leave??? Granted we may not be done selecting from the bench until we see what all players are needed. There is still the chance some managment may not like there new assignment and will elected to take a package. So many questions and even more rumors... The dust will settle this Friday at 5pm, but like the buyout no list of names will ever be realeased to see who was forced out. Will we ever know if 1800 are actually gone? not likely....

On a side note, i would guess that 500 taking the buyout is a high number....

Looks like MIP friend/t supervisors are the only group that will not be given a buyout or any other departure package option this time. l
