Chihuahuas Rule!
You are so right Tie! I AM one of those 20 year admins and yes I am getting royally screwed. I have busted my ass for UPS, hell, even took days off without pay when asked....to help "cut costs".......stupid me for caring all this time. I had the senority to "bump" someone out of a job, however, when they gave us the job selection list there was only one day job - customer counter in a center that's over an hour away OR nights & early AM. Yeah, I can do that...just have to find daycare for my 4 and 9 year old at 3am or midnight! RIGHT - I really had a choice....job/sev pkg. Get Real - those jobs were offered to get rid of admins. Guess now it's just a matter of "what goes around comes around"..... stay tuned for the "New UPS".
I am also sorry to hear your story.
In these past months, we all thought this consolidation was going to be different. In the past consolidations, the only losses were non-union admins and specialists. This consolidations was SUPPOSE to hit mostly high level managers. Didn't happen in my neck of the woods - mostly the same old faces - hardly anyone even transfered.
Again, it was mostly non-union admins and specialists out.
Starting to think this was the original plan - for the most part leave the top alone, to reach the target manpower eliminate the bottom - its even cheaper!!
I am disgusted....
