I'm late to this discussion...the locker room is UPS property. And while I am all for privacy, what is in plain view is in plain view. I am pretty sure if this was brought up to management it would be removed. We have one driver that had some calendars inside his package car. The only people to see it would be loaders. Well...one said something and he had to remove them.

That's pretty pathetic.....the crap I've seen in package cars over the years...urine bottles, empty beer cans, drugs, the drivers that miss the bottle so the truck reeks like piss for a week....I never said a word. A calendar with half naked women? Seriously?? Boo hoo their hooters are making me misload. Get over it lmao

Then wtf ARE you trying to say??
blleedinbrown58,

You have been on this discussion thread. You know my position on this.

I will summarize for you:

Walking through a facility I had to use the restroom so I was walking through a locker room to get to the area with the urinals and I was a bit surprised at what I saw.

Some drivers were getting ready and several of them had their locker doors wide open and I was troubled by what I couldn't help but notice on their locker doors.

There were varying degrees of obscene pictures hanging on their open locker doors in plain view of anyone who might be using the restroom at that particular moment, such as myself.

This I would say is probably a practice that should be banned. I know I'll probably get a bit of heat for this but the fact that these locker rooms are not really private places and I think the company should error on the side of caution.

I was not super shocked but I think depending on what is hanging, there could be someone who may be seriously offended by having to be exposed to something like this.

Sincerely,
I

so my question to you, Integrity, is what, if anything, did you do after this locker room incident? Did you complain to your sup or what? What action did you take?

bleedinbrown58,

I posted the details on the Brown Café and have been in discussion about it on the Sub-forum UPS Discussions.

Yeah I agree to a point...if there was religious rhetoric or Bible verses put up they'd have to be taken down and have been taken down as well. So long as they're consistent with what they allow and don't allow I have no qualms. The workplace is the workplace and that's it. Save that stuff for your man-cave where it's appreciated...just like my man-cave.

Everyone has their own opinion. My point was, i'm not gonna rat out a driver, be it a dirty calendar, a playboy or empty beer cans in their tote (which incidentally i found while rummaging for tape) It's none of my business.....i just lift packages.

bleedinbrown58,

Reporting workplace issues is the only way that the workplace will ever improve.

If someone doesn't report the insane things that go on (such as peeing in plastic bottles because workers are too harassed to feel they can use a rest room) then the workplace will never improve except when something catastrophic happens to force the company into action.

This is not ratting out, this is whistleblowing and it takes more courage to blow the whistle about injustices and improper practices that negatively effect the workers than it does to hide behind the pseudo-manly belief that real men don't rat others out.

Why are you afraid to report things that you feel are not right?

Sincerely,
I

Indecision,

I wear spandex briefs when wearing the yellow suit.

During my mild manner times away from fighting for justice and integrity, I generally prefer briefs.

Sometimes boxers.

I think you used the term "free ballin", If this is your way of describing going without undergarments then I only "free ball", as you put it, when I am wearing my Levi's 501 button fly jeans.

Sincerely,
I
