Friedman predicted exactly how Keynesian policies would fail and it had nothing to do with the actions of corporate America.

This is true. It's the Bananacat reason for failure. Corporations rely on the idea government will intervene and bail them out when they get in trouble based on Keynesian economics and so they take free risks. These expectations also make stimulus actions by the government ineffective. Why do you think the prime rate has been less than 2% for decades? When the Fed even hints of raising the prime rate, the stock market threatens to crash itself.

Friedman-like policies made the corporations the beasts they are today. Economic policy today has been pushed so far right by our neo-con and neo-liberal legislaters that a democrat 40 years ago is now considered a socialist/communist. Democrats today are only liberal in regards to social policies.

So there you have it. In practice, corporations today are on permanent welfare from the Keynesian ideas of government. And corporations are minimally regulated by Friedman ideas of government. We have the worst of both worlds for our economy and it has blatantly redistributed the wealth in this country.

I think it has a lot to do with corporations.

JFK was very much in line with conservatives on economic policy.

And I bet if you had the same lifestyle as an average Cuban you'd scream bloody murder. Why do I think that? Your average Democrat is always going off about how much the rich have. You envy them. If you traded your corporate bosses for the government bosses in Cuba you wouldn't be free to openly criticize them. And you can't just quit like you can in the States and do something else. Be careful what you wish for.
Middle and lower case wanna be republicans worship the Rich. In their eyes, the rich can never be at fault or do any wrong. A kid steals a car radio and the GOP types want to throw him in prison for life. The rich rob us blind on wall st and all of a sudden the apologists are making excuses for the rich in the form of ," It was the poor who bought houses they couldn't......" We talk about raising wages, the GOP says it will kill business. Well CEO making 400 million in bonuses haven't kill business. Wake up before big business takes everything from the middle class worker. Not every person is capable of becoming a heart or brain surgeon. That doesn't mean an average laborer should live in the gutter.
The reason Trump is winning the popular vote is enough of those poor Republicans understand the GOP does nothing for them except quote a few bible quotes and blame other classes and lifestyles for the reason they haven't become successful/rich. WAKE UP PEOple.

If you really believe all that I feel sorry for you. The Democrats make a lot of promises but look at the cities around the country that have been Democrat run for decades. Everything with Democrats is class envy or race baiting. Gets old. Come up with better solutions to problems and people might listen to you. Funneling cash to various constituencies to keep the votes coming in doesn't fix anything.

Fatboy 33 is indeed correct. The American electorate can longer cling to the belief that all we have to do is to put a rich, white Republican in the White House and it's 1958 all over again. Vantexan clings to the GOP and he yet gripes about the cost of healthcare yet elects to take the lowest cost lowest coverage plan he could get while he endorses the Cuban healthcare model a socialist system while at the same time campaigning for unbridled capitalism. Van what is quite obvious is that from an ideology perspective you support unbridled free business and unregulated capitalism with another rich, white Republican in the White House. Unfortunately from an economic perspective you through no fault of your own are finding yourself no longer able to keep pace with that type of an economy. And by the way given that you are not comfortable with the man currently in the White House because he's not rich white and Republican get used to it. Today there 5000 babies born in this nation everyday but only 1000 or so are pure Caucasian

Nothing even remotely approaching "that type of an economy" has existed in this country in the lifetime of anyone reading this message.

Nevertheless, your quackery is entertaining.

Again with the race baiting and class envy. When have I endorsed the Cuban healthcare model? And here's a newsflash, the two leading Democrats are old, rich, white people. And who says that the Republicans have to be white?!! I'd vote for Condoleeza Rice or Alan West in a heartbeat. What you folks have are built in prejudices about who you think Republicans are. I can see the results of Democratic policies, and I see the rationale behind supporting someone like Sanders. It's obvious he's supported by people who think there should be no reward for achievement, that we should all have equal outcomes. No doubt there are a lot of greedy people in both parties. Look at how the Clintons have enriched themselves. Yes, things are tough for the middle class but what the Dems are espousing, have been espousing for over 7 years now, sure haven't helped. Or do you think ramping up everyones' insurance costs is a blessing to middle class Americans?

I read Forbes regularly, which is basically an homage to the rich, who are almost exclusively Republicans, at least in Forbes. Steve Forbes, who was born with an even more golden spoon in his mouth than Donald Trump, spouts GOP editorial "wisdom" from the perspective of a privileged brat who never had a real job. His associate editors and columnists parrot Forbes, praising the rich and powerful, but almost never pausing to reflect on what got them the money...and it isn't always Horatio Alger hard work and perserverance.

The analogy of the poor maroon being fleeced by Mr. Moneybags is dead-on. Bravo Zulu.
