    Driving school vs orientation

Hello. I've worked part time as a package handler for 2 years. I also have done TCD driving, air delivery driving and gone out to cover a ground route when they call and need help. I just secured a full time driving position, and was told that I needed to complete a 40hr orientation class...

End of 2nd week as a preloader..

Just a rant and update for those who care. I like it. I don't like being at the end of belt 1 and getting royally :censored:ed by air at the end of my shift. Today i had to ask for help cause I got 50+ packages at the same time. I hope asking for help isnt bad. The first time i asked for help the...

    On Topic New Driver Hire

Good afternoon. I've resisted posting this question as I realize every center is different, but I would appreciate some insight as to the process of driving for UPS. I attended driving school August 22-26. When I returned to my local center I was told I would receive a call in about two weeks...

Hopeful new hire that failed his road course before it even began :(

Hey all, been on here a few times looking up what to expect and figured I'd post a type of thanks and farewell post. Little backstory. I worked for the USPS for about 4 months until Nov of 2015 when I was unfairly removed by a very bad postmaster. I was in my probationary period which management...

After my 2nd day of preloading I..really need tips.

I really want to get better. I wasn't thinkin it would be that vigorous but damn do I feel it. I feel confused though because different sups are telling me different things. One tells me to do it a certain way and another says "driver's are pompous :censored:s, they get paid 50 :censored:ing bucks an...

Is there a special way your center numbers/names their trucks?

For instance mine has trucks with real names. One is Pat. Another is named after a football team. Is that depending on the center or something else? Just out of curiosity. :-)

Starting my 5th Week - Small Sort

Hi everyone! I'm starting my 5th week as a package handler. I've been mostly doing work in small sort as a bagger but every shift I've been shuffled to the metals belt and loading trucks. So far it's been quite a unique experience, but then again my situation is equally unique as well. Being...

Less than 30 days as a new hire, already being asked if I want a sup position. Thoughts?

I was curious if anyone had any insight about the ups :) and downs for transitioning from a potential, union job to non? I enjoy the work, however I don't see myself as too longterm with the company, nor do I need any college money, or wish to be a driver.

New Hire, Keep asking me to go to a supervisor role!

As the name suggest I recently (still haven't made seniority) and the hub I am at is short staffed across the board (drivers preload and supervisors) so basically I was "thrown to the wolves" when I started preloading the second day and did 3 trucks with very little help, which is fine I prefer...
