There are always 2 sides to the coin.

What do you think, the company says in negotiations ?

"We are required to negotiate in good faith. But we can't give you the world

and everything in it.... when the members don't bother to vote."

People don't understand, the company is entitled to something out of the contract.

It's not a one way street. Look at what happened to Roadway and Yellow Freight.

The "vote no" response is always but, but, but, the company is making billions.

No, it was two-tiered wages, language to guarantee RPCD work hours and terrible contractor language for feeders that made many of us want this voted down. I think part-time wages will work themselves out, but I wish the bonus situation could have been fixed for current employees.

Also, for some one with such an illustrious union career, with so many awards and citations of honor, do you truly think we are dumb enoung to not understand how negotiations work?

Us going back to the table wasn't necessarily to ask for more, but to ask that the money be split in a different way. Of course this would have been complicated when factoring in the concessions our bargaining committee gave up, but I think they could have figured out a way to improve a few things with no real costs to the company or union membership.
