A way around RLA?

So as we all know, FedEx can't unionize (with the teamsters or others) because of the RLA law. That's Express's ace in the hole to keep the union out. Well, since FedEx Express is considered an airline........why not have FedEx's pilot's union add FedEx employees into their membership? Or if not the pilot's union, some other airline union. Thoughts?

They run into the same issue they have now. Whether or not it's an airline union doesn't matter. They'd have to organize all of the couriers (or handlers, or whatever) instead of station by station (or ramp by ramp, etc.). Same hurdles and issues regardless of which union.

Agree like companies don’t steal pensions all the time, like step raises are not ignored for 25 years.

Network 2.0 will nullify RLA status for Express drivers.

LOL! The pipe dream that if you put an RLA carrier in the same building as a non-RLA carrier, then the RLA carrier’s classification changes. You keep coming up with these ideas that aren’t supported by the language of the RLA or any legal interpretations thereof.

“But if Express shares the same building with Ground!”

Simple force the high paid couriers out than give the contractors just enough to hire their replacement drivers.
