When I started, my wife provided the family benefits through her job. When benefits started for me, she canceled hers, which was a $240 every other week raise.

Im always shocked when i hear/see what other people pay for health insurance.
My wife had to sit through a benefits meeting. She asked to be excused and they said, "You may find our benefits to be a very good deal." She said, "Unless they are free and included in my paycheck, they will not be cheaper than the benefits that my Teamster husband has."

She said that 'Teamster' was the magic word and she was escorted out of the meeting and told not to discuss benefits with any other employee.

It's amazing how many people there are on preload who are only there so they can cancel their spouse's health insurance because it's so ridiculously costly.
The amount of part timers I’ve asked why they don’t go full time and say they have another job, UPS is just for the bennies, is ridiculous.

Buddy’s wife works for the state. The state cuts them a check every year because she uses the UPS benefits and doesn’t take the state benefits. I was amazed they would get a check for that. Don’t know if that’s common.

It really is a shock for me. I started at UPS when I was 17. Still in high school. I’ve never paid for insurance.
The first time I had to pay $800+ a month for my wifes crappy insurance after I went on Medicare and lost my Teamster Insurance I wasn't a happy camper. That went on for 4 years until she got on it herself.

When I was self-employed, ObamaDontCare wanted me to pay $800 a month with an $8000 deductible. LOL Needless to say I laughed, threw the application in the trash, and just paid the fine every year... :censored2: em
