Speaking of that, I think I have one less friend. My buddy just spent like $65k on this 5th wheel camper. I asked him what kind of spends that kind of coin on something they will only use for like a month a year. He didn't get the reaction he was looking for from me I guess.

I tried some trick I saw on utube to season the pan faster. Not real happy with the results. The newer cast iron pans are cast differently and they are more porous. The older ones, like mine, were cast differently and are way more slick.

Lodge became too commercialized. I’ve got some older lodge that’s ok not great

When we build our guest cabin I plan on only having cast iron cookware and I’ll spend on a better brand.

I tried your trick of grinding/sanding the bumps out of the bottom I’ve seasoned it twice so far think I’ll run it through the process a couple of more times before I cook with it
