I’m curious what your thoughts would be on this. You go to the doctor and the medical assistant doesn’t speak English very well (irrelevant). The problem comes in when he starts asking questions about your medical history and asks if you’ve had any surgeries. You tell him you had your gallbladder removed. Not only does he not know how to spell gallbladder, even without being told 5 or 6 times, but he doesn’t know the medical term for it. You have to Google it for him. What would be running through your mind at that point?

I thought about it but stuck it out. The guy actually did much better when it came to drawing blood. Almost painless. He told me he was a physician’s assistant in his country and is planning on achieving that again here. In other words, he’ll go through 3-4 more years of training.

First thing I ask when scheduling for a new Dr. is does he speak fluent English I know this wasn’t a Dr but still

Fluent English speaking doctors are getting fewer and fewer here.
