Mexican food isn't really that spicy (although they do love hot peppers). What we think of as spicy Mexican is really more Tex-Mex.

In your neck of the woods or chain restaurants yeah that's probably true but not out here in Cali. Define good authentic Mexican food just about in any town out here.

We have a lot of migrant workers around here. A Mexican restaurant in every town with over 500 ppl. Most of it's pretty good food.

However my cousin dated a Mexican girl. Like her parents didn't speak a lick of English. She always said they serve what the masses will eat at those restaurants. We don't eat any of that stuff at home.
