My house was barely baby proofed and my kids turned out fine.

Not necessarily. She was climbing the bookshelves and fell today. Started balling. I picked her up held her for like 30 seconds before she wanted down (still crying). 5 minutes later she was climbing on top of her music table.

Unsupervised...6 feet up.
