Head manager would his name be Abney?
That was an accident. The “head manger” text. Although he did say something interesting last year when I asked about the future of PVDs at ups. Not a surprise that it’s great from a “business “ standpoint. One of the other drivers had a truck & knew all the rural addresses, he was killing it with multiple trips from the satellite location. Doing as much as a truck apparently.

Fight the power.
Pain in the ass. Them, Woodford Reserve, Wild Turkey, Four Roses and Jim Beam. Heavy boxes, and honestly got sick of the smell at those places

And making a fraction of what the guy in the "truck" was.

Sorry I said “truck” , confusing.
I meant the PVD was in a truck with canopy & apparently was killing it. Manager said he was doing as much as a an average driver. Granted he had an easy rural route, smaller packages & But only making 18.50 an hour. So from a biz standpoint it made sense. Butcis it long term sustainable? Especially from a moral standpoint, probably not

They drag the PVD out every peak season, also guys in golf carts, and people wearing brown vests and scanning packages with cell phones. Its still not enough to handle all the volume that comes through during peak. Regular drivers are having to work 60 plus hours a week during peak. it's no different than seasonal drivers they hire every year and the outside contractors who move feeders during peak.
Nothing new to see or hear about it

PVDs are the lowest of low class drivers.

Good luck.
Honestly I didn’t know that going in last year & I didn’t run into any attitudes. Only this year after I worked did I start reading about it on here. I’m not a dummy & I did a good job, showed up loaded my on crap & left. No problems, I even saw trucks picking up from the satellite location & I would help them just cus I had time. I truly do get why there is animosity, I would feel similar. But I would also probably take it based on the individual rather then just an umbrella scope of them. It’s hard to hate on hard work. I know you guys work your asses off.

Yo Mo, GtFO of here. Go troll somewheres else.
I’m not trolling, I haven’t tried to start anything or talk crap. Just joined to ask questions & answer some if anyone was interested. Just because I drove my vehicle around town for a few weeks a year ago shouldn’t get you so upset. Honestly if I was you, I would be rallying my brothers & sisters of the union. “Union” is not just a word, it’s your power, you should use it to keep your “employer” in check. Not me
