You want a toe? I can get you a toe.
“Most experts agree punishment is harmful to a child’s emotional development”

I’ll be damned if I give two :censored2:s about my toddlers emotions when she bites someone or looks me dead in the eye and does exactly what I just told her not to do.

Oh and I yell at my daughter because it gets her attention. Sometimes I just need to startle her enough to get her to stop whatever she’s doing for a couple seconds so I can get to her.

Also who are these “experts” therapists and phsychologists?

I know a dozen people that have went to school to be therapists. Every single one of
Them have serious mental issues themselves.

The broken trying to fix the broken. Not exactly a recipe for success if you ask me.

I always thought that therapists & psychiatrists have their heads (you know where).

I love her statement that “kids need structure. They need rules, and sometimes they just need to be told ‘no’”. I’m a firm believer in that. If they don’t learn those things with love from their parents where do “experts” think they’ll learn them? I’ll tell you....in jail. No thanks. I love my kids too much to set them up for that.

These "experts" can't distinguish between discipline and abuse.

Yep. And that’s where the major distinction comes in.
Parents also have no confidence in themselves anymore.

Night 2 home alone I guess my niece wouldn’t sleep unless mommy was holding her. My brother was all asking my wife what to do. She’s like sometimes you’re just gonna have bad nights.

By no means do I think my wife and I have it all figured out but asking others is a last resort not a first thought for us.
