You want a toe? I can get you a toe.
My uncle has been down there tearing down some of the old housing projects
A high school acquaintance of mine just bought one of the biggest houses there. His wife wants to run a bed and breakfast there.

Basically he makes a :censored2: ton of money and I guess decided to give her a pet project to keep her happy.

Gonna piss away a ton of money on that project.

Yeah the projects got condemned there.

Basically Illinois politics. They’d been stashing away money for years that was supposed to go to upkeep.

I forget what the demo bid was. Something insane like 8 million to tear down 3 buildings.

I was like give me a gas can and a match and I’ll demo them for 100k. Lol

Dude turned a high school mowing business into a multi million dollar contracting company. But everyone makes dumb decisions.

City of Cairo sells Riverlore to Southern Illinois couple
Time will tell. We had several old delapitated buildings downtown that should have been torn down but one gal check into low interest building loans offered by the city and she got a few improvement grants from somewhere and ended up some nice looking buildings now that are filled with new businesses.

The problem isn’t really the building I don’t think. Pretty sure they bought a 4500 sq ft home for less than 100k. It’s the town. It’s a total :censored2: hole that No one wants anything to do with.

The little bit I saw of it I know I wouldn't want to. I got lost in Flint once--that was an experience.
