We're not ragging on her for trying to load a trailer, but for the obvious set up situation. If she was in there in a high volume trailer getting her ass kicked but still trying we'd definitely give her a round of applause. Not for this nonsense though.

Around twenty years ago some first class decision was made to eliminate full time Clerical. At the bottom of the list was a 63 year old, 110 pound frail lady...they cold heartedly put her in a unload trailer claiming there was no work for her in that classification even when we had non union clerks running all over that building.

It was not a show..that was real. The young part time men and women around her showed mercy and helped her get through it (very classy).

The real purpose was to force her to retire early before she was ready to go on a piss poor retirement or maybe it was to bust her up and make her quit with a long term disability.

The Local was weak at the time and did not help her...with the adage “there is nothing we can do, it is not in the contract”.

The Moral of the story: (Elephants and Teamsters never forget...).
