Because our country is about ideas, freedom and individual achievement.
It’s not about the color of your skin or
whether you are royalty or
what your religious beliefs are.
Actually that was the idea of our founders. I think they did the best possible job man could do in ratifying documents that provided for the best opportunity at achieving these goals. Quite frankly we have done a superb job in screwing up what was presented to us.

You don't seriously believe that do you?

Think about it.

If there was Medicare for all, then businesses wouldn’t have to bother with supplying their employees with health insurance, which would reduce the burden for small businesses to provide healthcare, which is often a make or break proposition.

Employees wouldn’t be stuck at a particular job that happened to give them health insurance...they would be freed up to take their skills anywhere they wanted.

Etc, etc.

People lambast the $30T price tag of Medicare for all, ignoring the fact that we’ll probably spend $40T under the current situation for a less than satisfactory outcome and massive headaches for everyone involved.

Why are we spending Billions upon Billions for a redundant layer of insurance nonsense?

Can you name a country beside the US that is as rich as the US is, but simply can't or won't figure out to take care of its own citizens?

We spend more money not insuring people than we would if we just insured them.

Healthcare for all, it's not only the right thing to do, it's a cost-saver!

I think the answer lies in your "less than satisfactory" statement. I suspect when we go to a universal healthcare system the layer of government bureaucracy will give an even larger less than satisfactory outcome for most of us.

Sure. I know quite a few Canadians who like their system...a lot. In Europe, I asked anyone who would talk about it, and they all loved their health care. Government bureaucracy is wonderful if it supports gun rights, anti-abortion etc., but if it supports what you're against...then it's bad, very bad.

Their government bureaucracy seems to handle it well. But, since FOX has told you to be a stooge and oppose Single Payer, you're on the bandwagon.

Think for yourself.

Aren’t you in poor health in your fifties and currently without health insurance? Why do you think the system is working at peak efficiency?

The system didn't give me poor health. And that's life. I can see why those without a belief system want to hang on as long as possible but in the end we'll all die and there are no guarantees we'll die comfortably. And given how we now have medicines that prolong life it'll probably mean years of chronic pain and burden to our families. Some have the genetic luck to be spry until their 90's, many of us don't. The government can't guarantee good quality of life, but if it spends too much it will make us elderly a burden on everyone else. And it's clear from just postings here that the young already resent us. So buck up and accept the inevitable.

I love it when socialists paint this wonderful picture of government controlled anything and then promise cheaper prices and the same level of care except everyone gets it!

Anyone who disagrees is stooopid!
