Retired 2 years ago. Always felt like people spent more time talking about what they were going to do than actually doing anything.

I was going to say the same thing. My wife and brother rarely communicate on the phone when it comes to work. Its 50/50 IM and email. Phone is usually just for conference calls.

I refuse to log on to IM at work, pure time waster. You're doing something and someone pops up "u there?" next thing they do is ask you to get something for them that they could do themselves with a little research, but figure it's easier to get you to do it for them.
