All it took was one call from LaPierre and suddenly talk of a gun bill went silent and Dear Leader went crawling off to hide like a dog that's been beat too much. As for the market I think this coming week we'll see just how resilient and data dependent it is.

Do you really think the Chinese have any incentive strong enough to make them agree to a deal before Nov 2020?
In the ongoing trade war card game the Chinese are holding the real "trump" card.......TIME..... And they've got all of that in the world... I have no problem with ''The Chosen One's" attempt to get a more favorable trade deal with China and remember we gave them everything they wanted in exchange for a way to feed American industry's addiction to cheap labor but when it came to developing a strategy in an effort to correct the imbalance the Trump administration failed to consider both the time and political factors that would come into play. Whether there's a trade deal in one month or one century it's makes no difference to the Chinese because they've got a president for life and one party political system that doesn't have to respond to political dissent in any form.
In case you haven't noticed in China political dissenters have a funny habit of suddenly going on "vacation" and nobody seems to know where they went on vacation or why they never came back.
Futures are looking a bit rough. We'll see.
