Prices are high but $899K for a 2 bedroom is exaggerating. There's only two or three cities in the entire region where those prices are reality. Obviously SF is one, and Mountain View and surrounding areas are others. The rest of the region you can get a 4 bedroom 3 bathroom house for somewhere around 6-700K. High, but it's not 900K for a 2 bedroom.

If I spent 600k I would have a bowling alley, two swimming pools and I could afford to have @Poop Head do all of my yardwork

I believe my house is worth a little over 200k more then when I bought it. Should be paid off 5 years before I retire and then we'll sell it and buy outside of CA.

Umm....

I have a brother that owns a house the size of mine (Oakland Hills) and paid

$850,000 +. Doesn't even have a yard, driveway, or garage. Nice house BTW.

His family will be moving out of Cali in the next year, so my niece won't have to

attend public jr. and sr. high school. His asking price is going to be 1.2 million.
