There's some truth to that. Just one of the tradeoffs to getting a longer weekend. Some people like it, some people don't. Looks like I'm in the minority here.

UPS Teamsters may be the only people I've ever met who dislike the idea. Everybody I've known loves it. A 3 day weekend, every week? And let's face it, many drivers are working more than 10 hours a day anyway.



Under the same circumstances, what would prevent drivers with 8 hour guarantees from working 5 13s? I'll take the 3 day weekend. But that's why I think it should be an option. Not mandatory for anyone.

It really is crazy when you think about it. It’s 6-7 pm and you have 3-4 hours of work left and people are sitting down for dinner getting ready to relax for the night. And they get to do this every night!!!!

Under the proposal, you would pick the days you want to work in advance for the whole month so that staffing can lock-in the schedule for that month. It will need to be signed off and agreed upon.
