"...real-world ballistics and penetration.... Reliable perfomance...requires adequate penetration...totally inadequate.... A 3" buckshot load of .410...1300fps...a hot .32.... They will make a nasty flesh wound...." LOL. I'm not gonna jump to jump to any conclusion about people over-compensating for certain deficiencies, but this gun talk does seem to have a sexual charge to it. Or I could just be a gutter-dwelling pervert.:happy-very:

"This is my weapon, this is my gun. This is for fighting, this is for fun!"

A learned thing maybe?

I refuse to cast judgements, but could also be a more acceptable display of a certain latent trait. Or I could just be a gutter-dwelling pervert.:happy-very:

Let's just say that I'm 42 years old and some of the thoughts that come unbidden by me still have the power to shock me. Thank God "Thought Imagery" hasn't been invented yet...(it hasn't, has it?)...I'd really be in trouble!

Bloomberg sending undercover cops to investigate gun shows... in Arizona ?

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg may prefer “No Labels” but in his case, I think “gun grabber” is a pretty fitting one. As part of his misguided crusade to tighten up gun laws nationally, The New York Times reports that Hizzoner sent undercover cops to gun shows in Arizona and found they were violating the law:
In two instances, the New York undercover officers specifically said before buying a gun, “I probably couldn’t pass a background check,” but were still sold guns, city officials said.
In a third case, an investigator bought a Glock pistol and two high-capacity magazines like the ones used in the Tucson shooting. Such purchases were made without any background check but were perfectly legal.

And how much did this cost the taxpayers of NYC?
Bloomberg can stick it!
I’m willing to bet that they were private party sales.
Also, the article first states “they were violating the law” but then goes on and says “but were perfectly legal.”
Once again, Bloomberg can stick it!

I don’t about Gun Shows in AZ. But up in WA the legislature decided to try to restrict gun show sales.
One legislator asked the State AG to find all crimes that been committed with gun show guns.
A search of the previous 10 years of gun crimes, gun show guns were involved in precisely ZERO crimes. The legislator who asked for the information asked a simple question, “is a law necessary where there is no problem?”
The bill died.

There is no way an "undercover" cop from ""New Yoik" could ever come out here to the West Coast and pass for a local. We know yous guys ah from New Yoik the moment you open your mouth to owadah a cup of cwoffee.

Check out www.theboxotruth.com for some real-world ballistics and penetration comparisons for various cartridges, including the .410. Reliable performance in a self-defense cartridge requires adequate penetration and the .410 round is totally inadequate in that regard. A 3" buckshot load for the .410 consists of three 70 gr. pellets moving at about 1300fps which is basically the equivalent of a hot .32 acp round. They will make a nasty flesh wound but against an attacker hopped up on drugs or adrenaline its not enough.
You may be right.

Great web site. Very informative. I've been to it a few times in the past.

I saw this last night on the news. What a dick. He ought to worry about his own business first. He has enough problems on his plate.

They are considered private sales and there is no law broken. Apparently he turned over the videos to ATF. Doubt very seriously anything will come of it.

I hope the ATF calls him back and tells him to cover his own butt and leave their job to them.

Bill would require all S.D. citizens to buy a gun

Five South Dakota lawmakers have introduced legislation that would require any adult 21 or older to buy a firearm “sufficient to provide for their ordinary self-defense.”The bill, which would take effect Jan. 1, 2012, would give people six months to acquire a firearm after turning 21. The provision does not apply to people who are barred from owning a firearm.
Nor does the measure specify what type of firearm. Instead, residents would pick one “suitable to their temperament, physical capacity, and preference.”
The measure is known as an act “to provide for an individual mandate to adult citizens to provide for the self defense of themselves and others.”
Rep. Hal Wick, R-Sioux Falls, is sponsoring the bill and knows it will be killed. But he said he is introducing it to prove a point that the federal health care reform mandate passed last year is unconstitutional.
“Do I or the other cosponsors believe that the State of South Dakota can require citizens to buy firearms? Of course not. But at the same time, we do not believe the federal government can order every citizen to buy health insurance,” he said.

It's all because N.Y. is so perfect..........try removing snow instead of guns.

+1

If I were a New York City taxpayer I would be outraged that my tax dollars were being spent in another state to support Bloomberg's personal gun-hating agenda.

If he wants to be the King or the Emperor or the Exalted Ruler or whatever of New York City that is between him and the idiots who would vote him in to office. But he needs to mind his own damn business and let other states and cities handle theirs.

I know you are sooo much pro gun. If it was up to you, they should be sold at grocery stores, too.
But, on the other hand. Those great laws in Arizona (not requiring ID or checks), well, just maybe 1 of these days, Al Quada will be shopping at those gun shows, or any other extremist group.
Can't get easier then that.

Whats good for the gander is good for the goose.

Besides, maybe NYC was there, because of a crime investigation ?
They could have traced some guns back to AZ ?
