Hamat Placards absent on Ground step vans

First, you cannot unite against Fred with us because none of you are even employees. Second, it takes some actual brains to safely check, transport, and handle HazMat. I'm simply pointing-out (accurately) that the intelligence and skill level over at Express is higher. If I gave one of your guys a III Bar, he'd probably accept it, sit on it during his lunch hour (oops, no breaks), and drop by his trailer home to take pictures of his kids sitting on it.

Well MRFEDEX, I have had the opportunity to work at ground and now freight, Freight Handles much larger shipments of HAZMAT, and I am quite sure on both sides of each fence the opportunity for smarter individuals exists, however with that being said many that I have worked with are smart enough to not blow themselves up while delivering any hazardous material stops or shipments. Also with that being said I have seen more hazmat incidents at freight then at ground from a handling standpoint. And last thing I will say the 2 ground buildings that I worked at both grew enough to start sister buildings and both will probably split again with one in the middle. I can guarantee that not only can I find a contractor who would work you ass silly but some lowly drivers as well. You spew regret in most of your posts, I feel sad that you hate what your job has become to you, however you could have made better decisions in your life to not allow this to happen or to at least allow your self an out. I myself know my own grave, but have saved face when needed and not gone on and on and on and on some board. I said "I quit twice" at ground, the last time with a few kiss my @ss's and friend off's. but alas I am back with FedEx so what does that say about My skills as a leader and manager I don't know but I was not do not rehire! I also am developing myself in a similar but completely different environment from small package to ltl, so if I have to use those words again I now am a better developed as Leader and Manager in the transportation world. Do us all a favor and cry yourself a river, Because some of what you're so upset about was in your control the whole time.

I think I need an interpreter, but I do "get" part of whatever it was that you wrote. The part about me being upset is out of context. I take full responsibility for staying at FedEx. In retrospect, I should have left, but since you don't work for Express you have no idea how the takeaways happened or what we used to have in comparison to what we have now. This company scammed it's own loyal, hard-working employees to a degree you cannot even imagine.

This might sound cruel, but how can someone who writes like a 4th-grader be a "leader and manager in the transportation world"? I can't even figure-out WTF you're saying half the time. This doesn't speak well for the quality of leadership at FedEx, does it?

Really? It is just that simple? Wow, no wonder Fedex doesn't pay you anymore for DG or Intl qualified. I had no idea it was just that damn easy. Were/are you DG certified?

I didn't say simple, I said not difficult. You follow a checklist and use the IATA manual. If the package and the paperwork doesn't fit all of the criteria on the checklist and in the manual, it gets bumped. That is 99% of the audit procedure.

Dano you are an IDIOT! I guess it is true, you must be in management. The checklist isn't quite a VIR, you need to be able to interpret each section, and know what you are looking at.

Just telling it like it is
The only time Dano comes in contact with dangerous goods is when he cracks open a new can of carwax for Fred's limo or a new bottle of toilet bowl cleaner for Thornton's throne.

If you are reading Section B ("On the Package) of the checklist and see "UN or ID number, preceded by the prefix," and think it needs interpretation, then you've got big problems.

That's how difficult the checklist is.

Wow, you are as disconnected as it gets, you realize that we check more than section B, I won't go into details because it might confuse you,
but every section must be checked, we check the declaration, we check that the UN matches the packaging, and TRAINING. You have to know HOW
to check, and what to check.

So given we are expected to process DG in a timely(ie timed per package) manner, it's imperative that we be trained appropriately so that FedEx is not liable. THIS IS WHY FEDEX TRAINING FOR DG IS SO EXTENSIVE!

Sure go ahead tell some idiot to do DG, and you'll get idiots work. Go ahead DANO audit just the section B... when a plane goes down, or a fire starts because items weren't checked properly, I'll applaud your ability to cut corners at the cost of company assets, and lives.

MOST if not ALL in DG positions take the responsibility seriously, unfortunately FEDEX doesn't pay any extra for these folks.

Like I said, it's not rocket science but it requires training that others don't want to take on.
And most regular CRRs have long forgotten their role in DG acceptance, as is evident by the number of DG bumps that could be prevented
at the PUP location.

DANO (ANDY) please hop on a flight, I'll pray for you!

And that really sucks given all the serious responsibility of the job. And rest assured Fred saves a bundle too.

Does UPS pay their DG specialists a premium?
