In the 50s or 60s? Is this current news? A friend of mine was told he wasn't allowed in a bar because he was Caucasian. So racism is alive and not so well (Chicago Mayor comes to mind) and will always be until the end of time.

The thing the GOP wants to talk about is the men in the women's restroom with genitals exposed (like just happened in SF) and men competing in women's sporting events. The dims don't want to talk about that. Ever.

And realistically speaking if any of my black friends were excluded from using any CORRECT gender restroom or a drinking fountain by white jerks then there better be a bunch of white jerks to step forward because there gonna get their butts handed to them.

Racism (wrongdoing) is only as victorious as the force behind it albeit a temporary issue.

And for the record you can not legislate racism/hate away. That's a condition of the heart and soul. It's not a tangible item you can hold in your hand. It's deeper than that and it destroys the hater quicker and more completely than the hated.
