we used to throw water balloons at transit buses

everyone would skate , inline or bmx. getting chased by security was fun.

used to play bump with 2 basket balls and bump the guys ball into immigrant's yard.

I agree union brother , i just find it funny that it seems when a driver goes full time or drives everyday they automatically need a full-size pickup..

When I drive by the parking lot now ( I‘ve never pulled in since I retired) it looks like a 4x4 truck show is going on.

That's exactly what I picture when I think of Corvettes too. Except the shorts are khaki. Plus he's wearing a polo and his skin is reddish brown from too much sun exposure and the contrast really makes his white hair pop.

You are spot on.
I laugh every time I get in my 25 year old pick up and go somewhere locally.
In a small coastal town (3400 full-time residence) it is amazing. Old guys retired from the north are everywhere here driving cars they wish they had at 18. Jags, Vettes, Mustangs, Camaros ,..all new and shiny.

Got my 1957 Sears moped the summer between 5th and 6th grade. I put a million miles on that thing before I got my first car.

I actually took my motorcycle license test on that thing when I was 15. It's the same motorcycle endorsement I have on my drivers license to this day. The test involved him following me around town in his car for probably 10 city blocks. If he honked once I was to turn left- twice meant to turn right. That was the whole test.

I think the law here then had a special moped license for 14+ year olds. Not the same as a motorcycle endorsement.

Back then it was called a moped because you could actually peddle the thing like a bike. Now days I think ANYTHING under 51cc is classified as a moped. I have a 1988 50cc Yamaha Razz Scooter that runs moped plates.
