Living longer and the strain it puts on society

You want a toe? I can get you a toe.
Local authorities, state authorities, all authorities were/would be pressured by the bellering cows on facebook and twitter to shut down, because if you dont then everyone will die
That’s honestly been the most pathetic part of all of this to me. Not only the people so quick to give up personal freedoms but those bashing others for not feeling the exact same way.

the new thing around here is ripping people for not wearing masks in public. Well guess what without masks in a 15 county area we’ve had like 150 cases and a handful of deaths. I think everything was going just fine without the masks.

saw a funny video with 2 nurses yesterday morning talking about all of the people they’re seeing just in their yard or walking to get their mail with masks on. They’re like it’s not smog. It’s not just floating around everywhere in the air waiting to get you.

45,042 / 320,000,000 = 0.00014075625 or 0.014 %

The questions is ... What will we do next time?
Hopefully identify the at risk people and tell them to shelter in place and go about our business.
I'm with you ... in hindsight, we never should have closed down like we did.
To close down the world the way that it happened I feel you need something north of 10% to justify that response.

My father passed away last month. 92 years old. Not from the virus. Life long Teamster and Korean War veteran. You are right I take my spin from Mister Showman himself: The star of the Pandemic show, live from Washington D C Herees Donney.
Hope you live long like your father!

Personally, I would never try to emulate Trump ... I've never liked him but never less than I do now.
This is the way I look at Trump ... principles before personality.
Priciples before Personality is the basis of any successful organization.

What I don't hear on my radio scanners any more are medical calls for overdosing ( OD ). Where did all the junkies go? Most used to come around after a shot of Narcan, except this one who needed 5 doses.
Before this virus came along ODs were at an alarming death rate. Every local talking head was screaming for some kind of relief. Now a days not a peep.

I am not downplaying the tragic course of this germ, with those who lost loved ones and the overall stress of unemployment or lost income. But...We might be surprised of how many more lives where saved in comparison deaths to this virus by the fact of this forced lock down. Consider the closing of Bars and reduction of traffic (alcoholic related deaths), Murder rates (social distancing), illegal drug shipments due to border controls and surveillance procedures and reduction of oversea plane traffic and shipments and more national control over prescriptive medication due to shortages. The amount of money and consideration going into improving our health systems and training will save millions in the future, the next pandemic will not get the foothold that this one did and the one in l918.

Another consideration is the overall hygiene put into place with washing hands, gloves and face masks that will go on way after this virus is abated. I never did like handshaking, hugging or anybody within a certain body distance and now we are finding out this germ is spreading through the air by opening your mouth, another social plus for future outbreaks.

There's a big premium on illegal drugs right now

One bullet in each temple would have the same outcome. You go first?

With the exception of California (idiot laws that cause the fires), forest fires are natural. Natures way replenishing the timber, soil and getting rid of the deadwood.

Been 100 years. Maybe it's time. Need to thin the herd again.
