The middle gets screwed I'll agree with that and the "upper middle" really gets its. The bottom doesn't pay . The ultra top usually doesn't either.

No doubt, but a 'consumption' tax would hurt the 'working poor' much more than the 'rich'.

Just trying to be "fair". Everyone should have the same tax rate. A consumption tax would be a way to tax the rich more fairly.

Well if we're being fair, bring min wage up inline with inflation.

-Run for Congress.

Why do I have to make the world a better place is the real question? Making the world a better place isn't up to me as an individual, I can help make my country a better place, my state a better place, my hometown (Seattle) a better place and my current town a better place by speaking on such bogus things. I don't have to live in any city to voice my opinion on particular topics.

i donated $1700 last year mostly to democracy at work. i donated $175 last month to chelsea manning and freedom of hte press foundation. im lower middle class. ive donated to democracy now, wikileaks, nutritionfacts, anonymous, etc.

I honestly don't care what you did. How does that help me out? This forum is here for a reason, complaining and debating are two different things. You people say that I'm "whining" or being a "narcissist" because I voiced my opinion online? That's pretty hypocritical, I bet you do the same damn thing. I took interest in the topic because I live near Seattle. And it doesn't matter how many times you tell those people what they're doing wrong, they don't listen. Hence the reason why their cost of living is so high. They. Don't. Listen. I don't have to live near the Mexican border to have an opinion on what I think we should do about it, I don't have to live in any particular city to have an opinion on something they're doing that I feel or think is wrong.
