Minimum Wage

Slightly? Rethink, and research before using that term. The raise isn't a slight raise, it's several dollars.
most raises these days wont be higher than inflation, so in that sense its not a raise at all.

some raises might be lower than inflation, which is the case of the federal minimum wage.

So let me get this straight.
You're saying that all along, they've been giving people more hours than are needed to get the job done, what, out of the goodness of their hearts?
It's not hard to understand why Seattle is having a problem. Higher MINUMUM WAGE makes it harder for businesses in Seattle to employ people. They need to make a profit, up the prices, cut costs SOMEWHERE (cut hours, benefits or employees all together) to meet the minimum wage so their business doesn't lose money. All this is happening within a city that keeps increasing taxes. Get your head out of the sand.

You want a toe? I can get you a toe.
I asked a simple question.
You said they're cutting hours because of the higher minimum wage.
Are you suggesting they were over-employing before? Why would they be able to get by with less employee hours worked now all of the sudden?
Because they demand more from their workers for more pay?

I don't understand why people don't move to cheaper areas and why companies don't move to cheaper areas.

"Living wage" in my county is $9.50. People would be stoked to be making $15+ at factories if they moved here.
And that's why Fedex Ground thrives.

HIGHER PAY, means business loses profit. Gotta cut costs because they too have to deal with the economy in Seattle. How do they do it...cut employees hours or the position all together. Because they can't afford to pay you and everyone A HIGHER WAGE for doing the same work without cutting costs or raising prices...to make a profit. Really not hard to understand.

Have you been drinking lmao.
Good lord ttku.
You really don't know what the hell you're talking about. I do. Have you ever been sent home because they couldn't afford you? I have. Can't expect higher wage, lower prices and cost of living or even the same amount of hours you were receiving before from a business who also needs to thrive. Why should anyone give you more money for the same amount of hours for the same type of job and lose money because of it? You expect people to aid to you and suffer for your convenience? It doesn't make sense to raise the minimum wage without cutting costs or raising prices somewhere. It's people like you who make Seattle such an expensive place to live..
