It helps the most. But in perfect Express fashion… it’s a temporary increase that doesn’t show up on PTO. Only this company knows how to do something for employees and taint it at the same time.BUT BETTER PAY CREATES BETTER MORALE!!!!

More accurately, you can give people an unexpected, unannounced pay raise and they will bitch about it.It helps the most. But in perfect Express fashion… it’s a temporary increase that doesn’t show up on PTO. Only this company knows how to do something for employees and taint it at the same time.
It’s not a raise Durwood, it’s a pay adjustment and pretty late in the game for that along with some Catch-22’s.More accurately, you can give people an unexpected, unannounced pay raise and they will bitch about it.

Dano believes the company is being run efficiently and we’re all overpaid or fairly compensated. I’ve heard everyone else from cnbc, msnbc, etc.. say otherwise. And even fat Freddy admitted that they are open to ideas and they aren’t the smartest people in the room. I believe raj will have some changes in the near future.Or, in my station’s case, we don’t get the increase and we’re not even close to fully staffed. Obviously that’s not doing anything good for the company.
Be honest , most Ground drivers ( no uniform, flip flops, gangster rap playing on a portable speaker while delivering etc) are unemployable. That’s why UPS isn’t full of Ground drivers, same with Express. That's not quite how it works. Otherwise, UPS would be fully staffed with castoffs from Express and Ground. UPS isn't fully staffed, and people aren't leaving Ground and Express in droves to go there. Express is typically easier than Ground and with better compensation, yet Express isn't fully staffed
Very few Ground drivers in my area have uniforms. And most are in rentals. If you have a drivers license and are still breathing, Ground will hire you. But at Express, we aren't allowed to wear no-show socks. As if this company cares about dress codes!Be honest , most Ground drivers ( no uniform, flip flops, gangster rap playing on a portable speaker while delivering etc) are unemployable. They have a better criminal history than employment one.
C’mon now. If the company tomorrow matched UPS pay and benefits and demanded UPS productivity, they’d get it in a very short period of time from people wanting to make it a career.Dude, if it was as easy as you seem to think it is, they'd have done it long ago.
I've mentioned this before. When they started the temporary $3 an hour peak premium in the Nashville market, there was an immediate and significant uptick in employee morale. A couple of weeks later everyone was back to the way they were. After peak they announced that they were leaving it in place. The reaction? Crickets.
No one denies that there are benefits to better pay but you act like there will be unicorns and rainbows if they crank up the pay.
He knows that’s the truth. Everything at this company would change top to bottom if couriers were paid like UPS drivers. But it’s a non issue to him because the packages are flowing. And staffing isn’t to the point of shutting down. Short sighted people often think they’re smarter.C’mon now. If the company tomorrow matched UPS pay and benefits and demanded UPS productivity, they’d get it in a very short period of time from people wanting to make it a career.
As it is, they have a revolving door of people who in a short period of time come to not care anymore.
The “smartest people in the room” brought us to this point and either believe everything is going just fine or have no desire to fix it.
Make it permanent and company wide and you might quiet some of the bitching. They’ve got some stations getting an extra $3 and some not. Really pumps up morale when your $6 away from top out after 15 years & are told your station doesn’t need it lol. There is no company more clueless on morale than FedEx Express. We owe you $6/hr with back pay for the years we screwed you…. Here’s a temporary $3…. For some of you. If that’s still confusing, you must be pretty high up the ranks.More accurately, you can give people an unexpected, unannounced pay raise and they will bitch about it.
Or……”we’ve addressed the pay issue and since many of you have been held back from reaching top pay, we are presenting a $500,000 check to our CFO Alan Graf for all your hard work.”Make it permanent and company wide and you might quiet some of the bitching. Perhaps you guys shouldn't be quite so hard on Dano. You see, rectums have no windows including the one currently playing host to Dano's head so it's impossible for him to look outside and see the big picture. It’s not a raise Durwood, it’s a pay adjustment and pretty late in the game for that along with some Catch-22’s.
Dano: “here’s your (cough) raise that should bring you up to the pay level you should have been at 4 years ago. Now why’s ‘ya all beetchin’?”
If you give people a new, higher pay rate - it's a raise. It’s not a raise Durwood, it’s a pay adjustment and pretty late in the game for that along with some Catch-22’s.

They'd get people who don't want to leave. The extra productivity? From some. How are people who are incapable of generating Express productivity going to generate UPS productivity?C’mon now. If the company tomorrow matched UPS pay and benefits and demanded UPS productivity, they’d get it in a very short period of time from people wanting to make it a career.
LOL. People who haven't been with the company for two years got it and THEY complain about it.Make it permanent and company wide and you might quiet some of the bitching. Or in the case of FedEx, it’s an excuse. If you give people a new, higher pay rate - it's a raise.
They’re not incapable of generating Express productivity, there’s just no incentive to generate Express productivity. They'd get people who don't want to leave. The extra productivity? From some. How are people who are incapable of generating Express productivity going to generate UPS productivity?
They’d be replaced with those who could. They'd get people who don't want to leave. The extra productivity? From some. How are people who are incapable of generating Express productivity going to generate UPS productivity?
That’s a idea that dano/corporate will never be able to see. They’d be replaced with those who could.
