A lot of republicans have this view; you didn’t work hard enough and failed it was somehow your fault.
It's the fact that most of the wealthy don't do any productive work at all but are at the least risk of starving, whereas the people with the highest risk are the poor and middle-classes who do all the labor.

I don't have a problem w the idea that if you can work but choose not to, you shouldn't expect to eat. He just got the reality of it backwards.

99%+ of the time, it's the truth.

If you want it badly enough, you can make it happen.

You can get a part time job at UPS, and work your way into a 100K+ a year job within probably 5 years at most centers around the country.
While having amazing benefits in the meantime.

It might suck for a while. Hard.
But if you decide you want it more than you want short term leisure, you'll succeed.

It’s not the truth. Also, we all know hard work isn’t it rewarded at ups. Ups is a waiting game. I can be the best, but the :censored2:ty employee been here longer gets the job.

You don't get it.

If you quit, that means you didn't want it.
If you want it, you'll wait. And you'll be rewarded for that with a highly lucrative career that can bring you a lot of nice things in life.

this not always the case. It could be multiple things that made somebody give up. Not so simple as you just didn’t “want it” .

You cant use personal experiences and apply it to the entire world. Maybe it worked for you, but not the other ups employees that quit.

Depends where you direct it.

the cost of living was much cheaper. A poor person could make it, because for one they didn’t need a degree and two the housing market was lower. You got millennials paying 3,000 in rent. Stuck in college debt or not being able to advance because they didnt get their imaginary piece of paper.

I'm aware of that. But the blanket statement that hard work just doesn't get you anything today is entirely untrue.
