The automatic window reversal system may not react correctly after detecting an obstruction, a violation of federal safety standards. An online software update will fix the problem, Tesla says.
The defect prompts an official recall of over 1,096,762 cars - but thanks to Tesla's technology, that only means that a run-of-the-mill software update will be sent to the affected vehicles.
Tesla will perform an 'over-the-air' update of the automatic window reversal system. OTAs, as they are known by Tesla owners, are improvements sent to the vehicle wirelessly - like software updates on your phone.
The recall covers the 2017-2022 Model 3, 2020-2021 Model Y, and 2021-2022 Model S and Model X series, and those with affected cars will be notified by Tesla by November 13.

It didn't get better. They had to legally fix something they overlooked. Wonder how many more corners were cut. That they haven't found out just yet.

That might be the place where it gets even more superior, yes.
New software improves measurable performance and safety. And it happens without a phone call or a request. You just get updated and wake up to having more range or better braking.

But the car doesn't respond to the whistle. It responds to an antiquated thing on a phone.
I'm sure they can solve that with an over the air update.

Seems to be happening more and more and some hackers demand a thing called "ransom".

Every other manufacturer is in exactly the same boat. Except they have much smaller and less capable teams dedicated to their software.
Everyone has this potential vulnerability. It's just that Teslas are more capable.
