Why do people keep bringing up inferior EVs or awful charging setups like VW? People are just allergic to Tesla or something.

1 charge. 45 minutes. And I make the 600 mile trip the same as you with your 45 minute stop.
You don't get a full charge in 45 minutes. You are full of it..

It doesn't scale as a business model in a place without population density. The US doesn't have that density. It adds significantly to the cost of the car and the switching stations.

People in dense cities need it because they don't have home charging or can't adapt as easily to it. The vast majority of Americans would never need the ability because they can charge at home. It would be a wasted, very expensive feature.

I do a ton of road trips of 3 to 10 hours for long weekends, and I use public charging stations maybe 5 to 10 times per year. This really isn't a thing that people need or want.

I didn't even know how to use a charging station until I'd owned it for a year.
I've seen people drive their Tesla to a grocery store that has a free charger. They park it, plug, it in. Then jump in the range rover that their wife followed them in to the grocery store..
Funniest thing was when the store manager figured this out. He would go out and unplug the vehicle. They would come back to their vehicle to expect it to be charged. Their look on their face is priceless when they come back to a not charged car..

I had ice cream yesterday and I went grocery shopping today.

My story is as relevant as yours.

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.

That’s also a 240V

You really need to read something before talking.
Volkswagen has the fastest charge ing system. Look it up. As for the charging. You don't get a full charge on 45 minutes. I sold a piece of ship Tesla, at way under value to just get rid of it. Not to mention how much extra I was spending on electricity when fuel was 1.98 a gallon.
Yeah and also don't go on long trips in extremely cold weather turning you heater on full blast and turning the seat heaters on. That will knock off another 100 miles or less from your range...

Volkswagen doesn't have a charging system. Like literally. Where is it? Nowhere.

I don't need a 0 to 100% charge to make that trip. It's a 45 minute stop.

P. S. I didn't buy the car. My wife wanted to be in with the crowd, and quickly found out how dumb the small crowd is.
She said she wanted one. I said you make money. Then buy one. She did, then agreed it was worse then buying a brand new Malibu boat..

Ohh yeah forgot this part. For 100000+ autumobile. There service department is horrendous. Good luck with warranties.

Ps, I'd much rather drive a cool grocery mover like this. Looks way better and will last longer.

Or drive this if I need to pull a trailer. So I know that my range will be above 350 miles while pulling a trailer. Instead of the 170 miles max you'd get with an electric version....

I know there are variables, but how soon you would stop on a 300 mile trip to charge up and how much of charge would you get assuming it’s a 240v charging station
Depends on a lot. Some models are rated for 260 miles. Others are 400+

Highway miles are less efficient. Some trips don't have a lot of charging choices. Etc

240v really sucks.
