Only 5% of next car purchasers expect to buy all electric cars-Road and Track.

He founded a trillion dollar company, a 200 billion dollar company, and a 100 billion dollar company, all while everyone told him they were all stupid. He was universally mocked and still is.

Now, he's the richest man on Earth and he plans to die at a colony he plants on Mars, getting there on rocket he built.

He landed a rocket on its own butt on a platform in the ocean. And you guys think he can't build a truck.

So....yeah, Amway.
For good reason.

All that jazz....indeed.

Interesting.......a rocket......indeed.....Chinese developed "rockets" 5000 years ago.....

We had "hydrogen"(steam/water) cars 100 years ago. Electric even.....all chucked in favor of stuff bubbling out of the ground....

Progress indeed.....and all that jazz....lolololol.

Are all pathetic liberals so hypocritical? What part of "saving the planet" is destroying a forest for some cyberfolly is this?
Oh....Electric cars with batteries that require environment-destroying strip mining and deforestation are a good idea because Pathetic Joe has convinced his Pathetic Followers that it is?

Sure, they've heard of it... Just like they've heard of COVID. Is COVID under control, despite all the world's effort? The reason botulinum is contained on Earth, is because it is exposed to oxygen in the daily activities of man, because we are constantly "bathing" in oxygen.

On Mars, with an atmosphere too low in pressure to ever boil water, every single thing you come in contact with will have to be autoclaved or pressure cooked. An inconvenience, people like Musk and his "followers" (for lack of a better description,) doubt have the fortitude to maintain in their daily lives.

Only semi-crazy hard azzes that actually enjoy suffering, scrounging, and putting up with mountains of $#!+ just to survive, have any chance of lasting a modest amount of time up there. That doesn't sound like Elon, and a bunch of spoiled yuppies that have never personally done anything, to me.
You should totally let his technical team know. They might write you a big check for saving them all that time and trouble.

If you'll notice, I haven't said a thing about the environment in this entire thread. I don't care who is a hypocrite. I don't support EVs for any environmental reason whatsoever.

I'm an investor and a car owner. EVs are the biggest win I can think of for either category.

They are superior at the task. They will win. An evil genius who is a once-in-a-century intellect is running the operation. That's my entire point. He will win. That's it. I haven't actually even argued that's a good thing.

But EVs get rid of my trips to the mechanic and the gas station. I don't need regular maintenance, and I don't stop anywhere for fuel. In fact, my house produces all the fuel that I need. That can't be replicated with another technology. Improvements will make it dominate. These are simply facts. You wont' have the choice of whether you adapt.

What? Didn’t read anything you wrote. Too lengthy and destructive.

Better hope that global warming thing works out.

Imagine making a car decision on such a stupid basis.

I suppose I should get an inferior vehicle because I don't know how to use a blanket.

It's a good thing gas tanks are infinite.

*Another thought: the average EV might have the same or more energy in it than the average gas car. Most people let their gas tanks run low before filling up. The average EV owner does not start a trip with a small amount of battery. It is entirely possible that the average gas vehicle might have less heating capacity on hand than the average EV in such an event.

People have been running out of gas in the cold forever. If the critiques have gotten this silly, I suppose the debate is over.

Gas levels aren't impacted by cold. Battery range is. I don't think this is an argument against electric vehicles, as much as it's pointing out a shortcoming that people should be aware of when making a decision.

If the EV starts his trip at 80%, which is normal, and you have a quarter tank in a sedan, which is also common, you'll be going to him for warmth.

The average EV doesn't start a trip with a low tank, pretty much ever. Gas cars do. The human behavior element is missing.

(your post may not be using it to argue against EVs, but the blog guy and all such car sites do use it for precisely that purpose)
